Former constable Abdul Qadeer who was serving life sentence for killing his superior, Assistant Commissioner of Police of Chatrinaka Sattaiah for his alleged bias against Muslims during communal riots in early 90s, reportedly died today. However official confirmation of the death is still awaited.
Abdul Qadeer spends over 23 long years in jail. During the peak of riots in 1990 Abdul Qadeer then 29, shot dead Mr. N. Sattaiah for his alleged bias against Muslims.
He had multiple health problems and was under treatment for his damaged right leg. He claimed that his damage leg was the result of police torture.
Abdul Qadeer was arrested on the spot after the killing on December 31, 1992 he was convicted and awarded life imprisonment.
