UAE Red Crescent to carry out projects worth $80m in West Bank.

] The UAE Red Crescent is to carry out aid projects in the Palestinian territories worth $80 million in 2014 and 2016, a senior official said.

Sami Mikawi, manager of the organisations operations in the occupied West Bank said the projects include education, health, the environment and service sectors. He said that the projects cover the needs of the Palestinians in different areas such as medicine supplies and providing spare parts for medical equipment.

Red Crescent will carry out the projects in cooperation with local Palestinian organisations.

He said that the aid reflects the strategy of the UAE Red Crescent and its philosophy, which is to offer support to the needy, patients, poor and those who are marginalised. The organisation also provides support for areas which have suffered from natural disasters
