Black magic (sihr) is something that definitely exists and causes harm to people. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was also afflicted with black magic.

Harut and Marut (mentioned in the Quran in Surah Al-Baqarah) were two angels who are known to be behind bringing black magic to this world.

Allah had bestowed King and Prophet Sulaiman(pbuh) with certain powers over mankind, Jinn and all other living creatures. Satan wanted to deprive him of this power.

When Sulaiman wanted to answer the call of nature or to make love with any of his wives, he used to give his ring to a woman called Al-Jaradah. Once satan took advantage of this opportunity, came in the form of Sulaiman, and took the ring from her and put the ring on. As Allah had decreed to bless the holder of the ring to have many powers, all mankind, the jinn and devils submitted to Satan.

Then, Sulaiman came seeking his ring from her and she said: “You are a liar, you are not Sulaiman”. Sulaiman was exiled from his own land and nobody recognized him to be the very King and Prophet. Thus, Sulaiman knew that it was a test from Allah the Almighty.

With Satan having new powers, the devils were now free to do whatever they wished.During these days Satan wrote several books on witchcraft. The Jinns used typical and treacherous ploys to convince people that Sulaiman, derived power and kingdom by ‘witchcraft’. Thus the people were interested in magic; they thought they would be master of their fate by going through witchcraft and that ultimate power would be invested to them.

Satan spread corruption and discordance among the people. Only a few of them were God-fearing ones, but it was not an easy work for them to make such a people return to the path of success.

when the angels saw men committing wrong they said: “These humans you created with your hand, to whom you made the angels prostrate, to whom you taught namesof everything are committing wrong.”

Allah said to them, “But if you were in their place, you would be doing the same thing.” In another source and tradition, it is said that Allah said to the angels, “I gave mankind ten carnal desires and it is through these they disobey me.”

So, Allah challenged the angels to do better and commanded to choose one who would be sent to Earth and finally chose Harut and Marut. Allah said to them, “Go down, I have given you ten carnal desires so judge between the people.” So the two angels, Harut and Marut were sent to the earth.

Harut was sent as a Judge whereas Marut as a scholar with the instructions to avoid the grave sins. They lived, and consumed food as human beings. Their judgement were appraised.

Then one day a woman named Zuhra appeared to them, she was wondrously beautiful. Zuhra knew that the two men were no ordinary persons. She thought that they must be other creatures in human forms who have got secrets. Therefore she tried her best by means of her beauty and tricks to bring out the secret.

Zuhra wanted at all costs to know the secrets of Harut and Marut; so she invited them to her place, served them with the best food. Now, they wanted to comimit adultery with her as they were captivated by her beauty, but she said. “No, not unless you associate ‘partners’ with God, consume wine, murder somebody and prostrate before idol.” They said, “we cannot associate anything with God.” Then one of them said, “Return to her”. But she said “Not until you drink.”

They forgot their mission and commited several sins in order to win her favors. In state of inebriety they disclosed their greatest secret which Allah has vouchsafed to them. Thus Zuhra came to know the greatest name of Allah!

Zuhra once uttered the name and she disappeared from the surface of the Earth, and she was never seen again. But she could not enter Paradise and was turned into a star.

The two angels were put in fetters from their ankles to their neck and they were placed in a certain well in the Babel.

Harut and Marut were placed in the well and all those who were keen to learn magic, flocked to them for instructions. The two angels started to teach them magic or witchcraft and they became great teachers of magic. The two angels taught men magic, sorcery but after they had warned the would be student of magic, “We are only a temptation, therefore, disbelieve not in the guidance of Allah.”

Later, when Allah restored to Prophet Sulaiman (pbuh) his kingdom, and all those who had strayed away came to follow the straight path once again, Allah the Almighty informed Sulaiman about the magic that had become commonplace among his people.

Sulaiman quickly seize and gather all these writings and put them in a chest and bury them under his throne. All the devils who tried to even approach the chest were burned alive. Prophet Sulaiman (pbuh) took an even harder stance declaring that he would behead anyone who claimed that the devils knew the unseen.

After Sulaiman’s death, a devil came in the form of a human being to the people and said: “I will lead you to an everlasting treasure that will never run out.” He was referring to the writings that were buried under the chest. After the people dug out all the writings, the devils altered these books by adding magical and blasphemous writings. The devils wrote about different types of sorcery meant to fulfill different desires.(For example, how people could get some wishes fulfilled by standing facing the sun and saying some words)

They wrote this in a book and sealed it with a ring bearing the inscription found on Sulaiman’s ring and buried it under Sulaiman’s throne.

It is said that Harut and Marut are strung up by their feet every day between Maghrib and Isha, such will be their punishment until the day of judgement. They will then be forgiven and will obtain their angelic nature and abode.

The political turmoil engulfing many Muslim-majority countries has left many people wondering, what does the ideal Muslim leader look like? Tyrants like Saddam Hussein and Muammar al-Gadhafi have demonstrated the depths of human cruelty, while elected leaders like Mohamed Morsi struggle to maintain their legitimacy in the wake of increasing democratization.

While classical Islamic political theory focuses on the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his successors (usually caliphs or imams, depending on Islamic sect) as political exemplars, I believe that the story of Dhul-Qarnayn in The Holy Quran also provides insight into the characteristics of an ideal leader.

Dhul-Qarnayn, translated as “the possessor of the two horns,” is a legendary king mentioned in Chapter 18 of The Quran, Sura al-Kahf (“The Cave”). The Quran narrates the story of how Allah establishes Dhul-Qarnayn as a powerful ruler on earth and allows the king the freedom to do with his subjects as he pleases. Immediately, Dhul-Qarnayn creates a straightforward legal code wherein the righteous will be rewarded and praised, while the evil will be punished. However, he also acknowledges that punishments on earth can be imperfect, and that Allah is ultimately the final judge of mankind.

In this way, Dhul-Qarnayn demonstrates humility, an essential quality of an ideal leader. He recognizes that his power and authority come from God, and that his kingdom on earth is an ultimately flawed attempt to replicate the justice of the Kingdom of Heaven. If only real-world leaders could follow this example. Even though the concept of God’s judgment is not universally applicable in the modern world, politicians should acknowledge that virtually every political system is flawed in some way. An ideal modern ruler would understand that his/her political power — regardless of its origin — ultimately carries with it a responsibility to establish justice and improve the existing system.

Dhul-Qarnayn exemplifies other good leadership qualities in his dealings with a nation being terrorized by the monsters Gog and Magog (N.B.: these monsters are also referenced in the biblical books of Ezekiel and Revelation). First, when the people offer Dhul-Qarnayn tribute in exchange for helping them, he responds that God’s rewards are better than earthly ones. He exhibits self-restraint and does not succumb to greed. Since God has already blessed him with a powerful kingdom, Dhul-Qarnayn considers the tribute unnecessary and decides to help this nation solely due to his sense of justice. However, Dhul-Qarnayn motivates the people to help themselves rather than allowing them to accept a handout.

While he supplies the technical expertise necessary to forge a barrier preventing the entry of Gog and Magog, he instructs the people to bring their own raw materials and aid in the construction. In this way, Dhul-Qarnayn models the importance of collective action in tackling nationwide problems. In the modern world, it is clear that governments are not the solution to all societal ills; instead, people from all walks of life must work together to resolve these issues. Politicians may be necessary to supply the required leadership or expertise, but in many cases, the will of a nation’s people will dictate an initiative’s success or failure.

Dhul-Qarnayn’s story ends rather abruptly after the above example, but Quranic exegesis and analysis reveal other important features of his leadership. Since Dhul-Qarnayn is alleged to be a historical figure, scholars over the centuries have continuously debated his identity. Interestingly, a large number of scholars agree that he was a pre-Islamic figure not associated with Jews or Christians, the traditional “Peoples of the Book.” In fact, most schools of thought consider him to be either Alexander the Great, a pagan, or Cyrus the Great, a Zoroastrian. In any case, this means that Dhul-Qarnayn’s principles of good governance are widely applicable to diverse societies, not only Abrahamic ones. This also references a message of religious pluralism; even though Dhul-Qarnayn may not have been one of the “People of the Book,” he still exhibited traits like justice and humility that are central to Islam.

Was Dhul-Qarnayn actually Alexander, Cyrus or a completely different person? We may never know. But since his true identity is a mystery, we can analyze his actions without historical bias. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself must have believed that Dhul-Qarnayn’s story was worthy of frequent reading and reflection, since he strongly recommended that believers read Sura al-Kahf every Friday. Indeed, Muslims can be inspired by Dhul-Qarnayn’s respect for God’s justice and his pious commitment to God’s commands. Even non-Muslims (and the non-religious) can learn from this legendary king by striving to emulate his personal qualities of humility, self-restraint and his commitment to justice.

As the “Arab Spring” and its aftermath continue to upset the historical order in many countries, future Muslim leaders would do well to follow the example of Dhul-Qarnayn. Acknowledging the limits of their own political systems and promoting collective action are central to good governance in this increasingly pluralistic age. While it is impossible for anyone to be a perfect leader, Muslims everywhere can benefit from a sincere commitment to Dhul-Qarnayn’s governing ideals. After all, The Quran declares, “Let there arise out of [mankind] a band of people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones [who] attain success” (3:104).

Yajuj and Majuj were two two disbelieving tribes of Turks, descended from Yafith (Japheth), the father of Turks, one of the son of Noah. According to the descriptions they have small eyes, small, flat noses and wide faces. Their faces look like hammered-out shields. They were t0o powerful but barbarous tribes causing prejudice and chaos on the Earth , killed God-fearing men and devastated all their provisions and plantation.

At the time of Ibrahim(pbuh) there was a king called Dhul Qarnayn. He performed Tawaf around the Kabah with Ibrahim(pbuh), when he first built it; Dhul Qarnayn believed and followed him. Dhul Qarnayn was a good man and a great king. Allah gave him great power and he ruled the east and the west.

He was travelling towards east, he reached a pass between two mountains, through which people were coming out. They did not understand anything, because they were so isolated.

Yajuj and Majuj were spreading mischief on earth and were harming people. So the people sought help from Dhul Qarnayn.

They said: ‘O Dhul-Qarnayn! Verily! Yajuj and Majuj are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?’

He said: ‘That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier.’

So Dhul Qarnayn built a wall by mixing iron, copper and tar. Thus, Dhul Qarnayn restrained Yajuj and Majuj behind the wall.

They tried to penetrate the wall or to climb it but they could not succeed as the wall was so huge and smooth. They began to dig and they have been digging for centuries. They will dig the wall every night trying to escape, only to find each morning that the wall has been restored by Allah. They will continue to do so until the time when Allah decrees that they come out.

At that time the wall will collapse, and Yajuj & Majuj will rush out in all directions in large numbers, spreading violence, uprooting plants, killing people.

They will spread mischief on earth and no one will be able to resist them. Their appearance will be one of the signs of the end times.

Yajuj and Majuj will shoot at the sky, hoping to destroy heaven. When Esa(pbuh) prays against them, Allah will send a kind of worm in the napes of their necks that will fill their ears and noses and they will be killed.

Muslims have been fasting in Ramadan for more than 1430 years since they were ordered by God Almighty through the Glorious Qur’an:

Oh you who believe! Fasting is decreed for you as it was decreed for those before you, so that you may learn self-restraint
(2:183).

The purpose of the fast is meant to purify oneself from thoughts and deeds that counter Islam.

Allah prescribed fasting on many nations before Muhammad (pbuh) was sent as a prophet.

The Qur’an tells us that when Zakariyah (pbuh) prayed and asked Allah to give him offspring, he was commanded to fast three days by abstaining from talking.
Likewise,Maryam the mother of Esa(pbuh) was also ordered by Allah to fast the same way when she became pregnant.
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) told us that Daud (pbuh) used to fast every other day.

Ramadan has a number of significant relations to the Muslims in general.

For it was in Ramadan that the Holy Prophet was first informed of his prophethood

The first revelation of the divine book Al Quran came down in the month of the month of Ramadan wherein the Sura ”Iqra’ bismi Rabbikalla thee khalaq” was revealed .

The connection we have with the month of Ramadan other than fasting is the illustrious battle of Badr which was fought in this month. The first formal military confrontation took place between the idol worshipers of Mecca and the Muslims in Medina.

Before Hijra, when fasting was practiced by the Prophet in Makkah, there was no such thing as Ramadan. The only kind of fasting that the Holy Prophet and his Meccan companions performed during that period was the ancient form of fasting that had been enjoined upon all the prophets that had come before him namely, to fast three days in each of the twelve months of the year.

Upon his Hijra to Madinah, the fast of Ramadan was made compulsory on the believers in the second year of the Hijra in the form of the ayah that was initially recited.

Shaddad was historical king of lost Arabian city of Iram of the Pillars. Various sources suggest Shaddad was the son of Ad.

Allah took away the life of Shaddad’s mother in a boat where no one else was there but He sustained him even there. Shaddad became the foremost ruler of the world. He was mighty king and his conquests extended to Syria, Iraq and the frontier of sub-continent of Indo-Pakistan. He gained such power that the east and the west paid obeisance to him.

He was an avid reader of books. When he came across the description of Paradise, the inlaid rubies and pearls and other bounties, he wanted to construct a Paradise at par with the Paradise of Allah.

Thus he appointed one hundred people for building the ‘Paradise’. And under each one of them he deputed a thousand workers. Then he ordered them to look for a vast tract of land in the wilderness and construct a city of gold, silver, rubies, emeralds and pearls. To construct pillars of emeralds. To construct palaces and fix windows to them and windows upon these windows. Below the palaces, they should plant fruit orchards and make streams flow underneath.

Then for three hundred years continued the construction of the palatial city. Its four sides were one hundred and twenty miles long. The bricks of the buildings were of gold and silver. The trees were also made of silver and gold. Diamonds and precious stones were fixed in the place of fruits. The upper surface of soil was made of pieces of coral and pearls. They were spread as this way that soil was not seen.

Iram, the city was built by King Shaddad as an imitation of the Earthly paradise and was truly the most splendid and magnificent city ever seen on Earth. It was known as the Garden of Iram.

When Shaddad was informed that his heaven is completed, he went to enjoy himself inside but he could not enter, one step in side and his last time approached and he died. The total age of Shaddad was 900 years.

Hud was appointed to be the Prophet of Ad tribe. Ad, a fourth generation descendant of Noah. Hud and his people lived in the Yemeni province of Hadramawt. This region is at the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula, in an area of curved sand hills.

The lineage of Prophet Hud is as follows: He is Hud, the son of ^Abdullah, the son of Rabah, the son of al-Jalud, the son of ^Ad, the son of ^Aws, the son of Iram, the son of Sam, the son of Noah.

People of Ad were skillful masons and were mostly well off. Having abundant wealth as well as a long life made them proud of their achievements and considered themselves to be invincible. The people of the tribe of Ad were very tall and strong. The tallest among them was 100 cubits in height and the shortest was 60 cubits in height (~90 feet).

Since Hud was a man from amongst them, it was certain that they would be more inclined to listen to him.He was enjoying a great patience in guiding people.

“To the ‘Ad People (We sent) Hud, one of their own brethren. He said: “O my people! Worship God! Ye have no other god but Him. You are only forgers. “O my people! I ask of you no reward for this (Message). My reward is from none but Him who created me: Will ye not then understand? “And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him (in repentance): He will send you skies pouring abundant rain, and add strength to your strength: So turn ye not back in sin!” They said: “O Hud! No clear (Sign) hast thou brought us, and we are not the ones to desert our gods on thy word! Nor shall we believe in thee! “We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods may have seized thee with evil.” He said: “I call God to witness, and do ye bear witness, that I am free from the sin of ascribing to Him, “Other gods as partners!”
(11:50-55)

He then stood up and prayed: “Give me victory on what they called me a liar.” Then the order of God came – The punishment of no more rain. There was a terrible drought for three years. The grass and cattle were destroyed. Then a huge black cloud appeared. The people of ‘Ad were very happy when they saw this cloud because they assumed that it contained much rain. They declared that this cloud would bring back the land and the rivers would flow again. Little did they know what was in store for them. Instead, this black cloud brought a terrible wind that would lift men up and then drop them with such force that they would crush. Many men even tried to escape this wind by hiding in the mountain caves. However, there was no escape from this wind. This wind would even follow them in the caves.

The people of ‘Ad used to boast that there was none stronger than they. God surely proved them wrong for their disobedience. God destroyed not only the people of ‘Ad, but the entire city as well.

They did not heed the warnings and were punished with hurricanes so fierce that nothing could withstand it. The people of Ad were punished with the severest of hurricanes, which was unrelenting and smashing their cities for 8 days and 7 nights, continuously!

Afterwards the remnant who survived established themselves in Yemen.

The Story of Prophet Hud (as) is a major lesson for all of us. It is a prime example of how civilizations grow arrogant, haughty and proud and then are brought down with the severest of punishments.

Sheth was the third son of the Prophet Adam (pbuh). When Sheth was born, his father, the Prophet Adam (pbuh), had attained the age of 130 years.

Sheth was born five years after the death of Habil. Prophet Adam (pbuh) was very sad that Habil was dead. But Allah, in great mercy and kindness, gave Prophet Adam another beloved son. Allah told Prophet Adam (pbuh) that he would have a son and from the decedents of this son would come Prophet Muhammad. This made Prophet Adam very happy. Allah’s mercy was so great to Prophet Adam that Allah made Sheth look like his father. Prophet Adam loved Sheth very much. Prophet Adam taught Sheth the hours of the day and night and told Sheth of a flood that was to come.

When Prophet Adam (pbuh) was on death bed, he appointed Sheth (pbuh) as his successor and advised his descendants to follow him and live peacefully in perfect harmony.

Sheth conveyed the message of Islam to the people, telling the people the correct belief in God and the way to perform acceptable worship. All the humans were Muslim at that time, but still God gave the Revelation to Seth, and he taught and reminded the people.

It is said that The Almighty revealed to him fifty small portions of the Scripture.

Seth received a new ruling from God, different from the time of Prophet Adam. This ruling was that it is forbidden for the brother to marry his sister, whether she is his twin sister, or his sister who is not his twin.

He tried to guide his followers on the right path, but some of them were strayed by the Satan. They began to worship Satan’s self-made portrait. Prophet Sheth (pbuh) passed away at the age of 912 years.

Allah made the mountains, the seas and all the animals. He made the heavens, the stars, the sun and the moon. And he made the angels. The angels were like Allah’s servants and did everything He ordered. Then Allah decided to make a man. He called this first man Adam.

Allah sent Gabriel onto the earth to get Him clay therefrom. The earth said: “I seek refuge in Allah from your decreasing my quantity or disfiguring me.” So Gabriel returned and did not take anything. He said: “My Lord, the land sought refuge in You and it granted.” So Allah sent Michael and he too said to Allah what Gabriel has said before him. Then Allah sent the Angel of Death, and the land sought refuge in Allah, the angel said: “I also seek refuge with Allah from returning without carrying out His command.” So he took clay from the face of the earth and mixed it. He did not take from one particular place, but rather he took white, red, and black clay from different places.

Allah soaked the clay till it became sticky. Then Allah said to the angels: “Truly, I am going to create man from clay. So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him.”

Allah created Adam from dust after He mixed the clay and left him for some time until it became sticky mud, making him 60 cubits(This is 30 meter) tall. When He created him, He said to him, “Go and greet that group of angels.”So, Adam said (to the angels), As-Salamu Alaikum (i.e. Peace be upon you). The angels said, “As-salamu Alaika WA Rahmatul-lahi” (i.e. Peace and Allah’s Mercy be upon you). People have been decreasing in stature since Adam’s creation.

Allah breathed His spirit into Adam and when it reached his head Adam sneezed. The angels said: “Say all praise belongs to Allah.” Adam repeated: “All praise belongs to Allah.”

And then: The angels prostrated themselves all of them together. Except Iblis, he refused to be among the prostrators. He was a jinn(demons), and as such he was supposed to be inferior to the angels.

Iblis tried in vain to justify his refusal: “Shall I prostrate to one whom You created from clay?” Iblis said: “If You give me respite (keep me alive) to the Day of Resurrection, I will surely seize and mislead his offspring (by sending them astray) all but a few!”

Allah knew that Iblis was not going to obey Him in prostrating before Adam. Allah could have totally annihilated him. Yet, Allah gives His commissioned creatures absolute freedom even to the extent that they can refuse Allah the Almighty’s commands. He grants them the freedom of denial, disobedience, and even disagreement with Him.

Adam sometimes talked to the angels, but they were preoccupied with worshiping Almighty Allah. Therefore Adam, felt lonely. One day he slept and when he awoke he found near his head, a woman gazing at his face with beautiful tender eyes whom Allah had created from his ribs.

Adam and Hawa were admitted to Paradise and there they lived the dream of all human beings. Allah permitted them to approach and enjoy everything except one tree, that might have been the Tree of Pain or the Tree of Knowledge. Allah forbade them they were give abode in Paradise.

Adam was however a human being and man tends to forget. His heart changes and his will weakens.Iblis started to whisper to him day after day “Shall I guide you to the tree of Immortality and the Eternal Kingdom?”

Years went by, and Adam and Hawa were preoccupied with thoughts of that tree. Then one day they decided to eat of its fruit. They forgot that Allah had warned them not to approach it and that Iblis was their sworn enemy. Adam stretched out his hand, picked one of the fruits and offered it to Hawa. They both ate of the forbidden tree.

Allah the Almighty addressed Adam: “Did I not forbid you that tree and tell you: Verily Satan is an open enemy unto you?”

“Get down, one of you an enemy to the other (Adam, Hawa, and Satan etc). On earth will be a dwelling place for you and an enjoyment, for a time.” He said: “Therein you shall live and therein you shall die, and from it you shall be brought out (resurrected).”

They left Paradise and descended upon the earth. On earth he had to face conflict and struggle. He also had to toil to sustain himself.

Adam also understood that Allah punishes disobedience and that the way of Paradise has to be through submission to the will of Allah. And he learned from Allah Almighty to ask for forgiveness.Allah accepted Adam’s repentance and forgave him. He then sent him to the earth as His first messenger.

The pinnacle of earthly bliss was reached when Adam and Hawa witnessed the birth of their 1st children, a set of twins. Adam was a devoted father and Hawa a contented mother. The twins were Qabil and his sister. Later Hawa gave birth to a second set of twins, Habil and his sister.

Qabil tilled the land while Habil raised cattle. The time arrived when the two young men desired life partners. This was part of Allah’s plan for mankind, to multiply and form nations with different cultures and colors. Allah told Adam that he should marry each son to the twin sister of the other. Adam instructed his children according to Allah’s command, but Qabil was displeased with the partner chosen for him, for Habil’s twin sister was not as beautiful as his own.

It appears that since the beginning of time, physical beauty has been a factor in the attraction between man and women. This attraction caused Qabil to envy his brother Habil. He rebelled against Allah’s command by refusing to accept his father’s advice. Qabil threatened his brother. “I will kill you! I refuse to see you happy while I remain unhappy!”Habil did not fear his brother’s threats, but neither did he want his
brother to be hurt, Allah had blessed Habil with purity and compassion.

Qabil struck his brother with a stone killing him instantly. This was the 1st death and the 1st criminal act committed by man on earth.

Qabil did not know what to do with his brother’s corpse. Allah sent two ravens that began fighting, causing the death of one. The victorious bird used its beak and claws to dig a hole in the ground, rolled its victim into it and covered it with sand.Witnessing this, Qabil was overcome with shame and remorse. “Woe unto me!” he exclaimed. “I was unable to do what this raven has done, that is to hide my brother’s
corpse.” Qabil then buried his brother. This was also the 1st burial of man.

Adam was utterly grief stricken by the loss of his two sons. One was dead, the other was won over by the devil.

When Adam’s death was near the angels entered his room and surrounded him. When he recognized the Angel of Death among them, his heart smiled peacefully.Angels took his soul, embalmed and wrapped him, dug the grave and laid him in it. They prayed on him and put him in his grave, saying: ‘O Children of Adam, this is your tradition at the time of death.””

Before his death Adam reassured his children that Allah would not leave man alone on the earth, but would sent His prophets to guide them.

After Adam’s death, his South Seth (Shiith) took over the responsibilities of prophethood, Allah sent down one hundred and four psalms, of which fifty were sent down to Seth.” When the time of his death came Seth’s son Anoush succeeded him.

ALLAH (God) the Greatest is the only Creator. This Universal law of creation was denied by an atheist Charles Robert Darwin (1809-1882). He advanced a theory of evolution. He believed in the survival of the fittest in the evolutionary stages. He calls evolution by mutation and natural selection. In his theory he held that life sprang up from non-living matter without any divine assistance and man was not created but all animal did descend from one primate kind and they evolved to what they are now through evolutionary stages. He held there is a strong link between early ancestors, and ape and men are descendant from Apelike prehistoric men.

DARWIN’S THEORY CAUSED MASSIVE KILLINGS

The theory of evolution revoking the divine creation resulted into far reaching miserable consequences. It gave a death blow to the moral values in Europe etc., which were invoked by the religious teachings in nineteenth century. After the evolution theory became the common knowledge of the people that history recorded progressive worsening of the crime, delinquency, immorality and even war. People resorted to nasty and foul means to achieve their own benefit, as they believed that in struggle for existence the stronger survives. But in what they indulged was not the struggle for the power, the weak were driven to the wall and the strong survive.

The theory of the survival of the fittest enticed few men in power to unparallel tyranny. H.G. Wells in his Book, The Outline of History admitted, “The Darwinian took formal Christianity unawares, suddenly the immediate effect of this great dispute was very detrimental indeed.

The new biological science was bringing nothing constructive as yet to replace the old moral stand-bys. The real demoralization ensued. There was a real loss of faith after 1859. The true gold of the religion in many cases was thrown away with the worn out purse that had contained it for so long, and it was not recovered. The people at the close of the 19th century believed that they prevailed by virtue of struggle for existence, in which the strong and the cunning get the better off the weak and confiding. Man, is a social animal like the Indian hunting dogs of the human pack should bully and subdue the weak. (pp956,957-1921)” It is the theory of evolution which paved the way for agnosticism and atheism, and corroborated communism. Karl Marx (1818-1883) the father of modern communism was so delighted with Darwin’s evolution work that he wanted to dedicate the English Edition of his book Das Kapital to Darwin because he felt that Darwin’s theory gave a basis in natural science for the class struggle he taght. Darwin’s evolution was considered spade work for persons to accept communism and other godless ideologies.

Both Nietzsche and Marx were profoundly influenced by Darwin’s Evolution theory. They applied it to their social and political teachings, enticing people to kill the religious and the religion. And the world witnessed a great genocide of the unarmed people, particularly Muslims under Bolshevik revolution in 1917. It was certainly the theory of evolution which gave birth to anarchism, fascism, Nazism and Zionism and it hurt the human family.

The Zionists took very active part in the Bolshevik Revolution. The following facts are revealed for the information of the readers. The Jewish Chronicle in its issue of 4rth April 1919: There is much in the fact of Bolshevism itself, in the fact that so many Jews are Bolshevists, in the fact that the ideals of Bolshevism at many points are consonant with the finest ideals of Judaism.

The best known expose of the Jewish role in the Bolshevik coup de tat was by Sir Winston Churchill wrote “With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of leading figures are Jews. Moreover the principal inspiration and the driving power comes from Jewish leaders.”

The Central Committee of the Bolshevik party was made up of nine Jews and three Russians. The council of the People’s Commissars comprised of seventeen Jews and five others. The Central Executive Committee consisted of forty two Jews and fourteen others. That proves the enmity of the Jews against the religious and the religion and particularly Muslims.

The Zionists mercilessly murdered thousands of unarmed Palestinians in West Beirut on 18th September 1982 at Sabra and Shatilla. A resolution was passed against Israel on 19th September 1982 in the Security Council.

However, the Darwinian theory did not go unchallenged. The biologists who work on living matter in all its forms and phenomena especially with reference to origin, growth, reproduction and structure etc, carrying experiments on non-living matter.

Louis Pasteur, a French scientist (about 1860), conclusively demonstrated that micro-organism which are present everywhere and get into organic matter, which serve as their food. After feeding and growing, the micro-organisms reproduce and thereby give rise to others like themselves. If flasks containing food are given the heat treatment for their sterilization, and sealed even after many months, no micro-organism did appear. The technique of heat treatment to kill the micro-organism and protect the food from contamination after its sterilization by sealing the air off the flasks is called pasteurization.

The origin of any life, however simple, is really based on the scientific principle of biogenesis, for which the Encyclopedia Americana says: From the Greek word bios (life) and genesis (birth, source creation) is the biological term for the doctrine that living organisms are produced by other living organisms, biologists are now not only in virtually unanimous agreement that all life derives from preceding life, but that the parent organism and its offspring are of the same kind.

After going through the aforesaid scientific facts that life did not come out of the non-living matter, let us look into the Qur’an, which established that the earth was a dead matter after its creation:

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together then We parted them? (21:30) Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke (i.e. gaseous nebula) and said unto it and unto the earth, come both of you willingly or loath. (41:11) (literal translation).

Science has proved that the sun and the earth were conjoined in gaseous nebula. The Sun was a fireball. When earth separated from the sun, it was a hot liquid magma, then it gradually cooled down till it was enveloped with ten to fifteen miles of solid crust of hot rock and metals etc. The earth still has in it burning hot magma which comes out in the eruption of a volcano revealing its origin blazing hot gaseous rotating nebula before the formation of the universe. The knowledge made it known that hot molten matter cannot carry any life into it.

So science has proved beyond any doubt that life did not begin from a non-living matter as thought by Darwin. Then how did life begin? Darwin also contended that there is a strong link between early ancestors and Ape. That strong link could be only through blood and DNA. If the DNA of man could match with ape. The anthropologists could produce a test tube baby by matching genes of both. Had that experiment been successful, the atheists could have arranged a great festival on the grave of Darwin.

Allah said: The nature ordained by Allah in which He hath created man. There is no altering to the laws of Allah’s creation. (30:30) (This is literal translation. Mostly the translators write their own opinion as translation. It is wrong. Arabic Fitrat or Fitrah means nature. Fatra verb means to create, bring into being. Al-Mawrid Arabic Englsih).

However the seventh century revolution mentioning there is no altering to God’s creation was opposed after Darwin’s evolution theory. A famous evolutionist writer Dobzhanski in his book, The Biological Basis of Human Freedom cynically stated, mutation produces changes in the genes and variants of the genes structure, these are the raw material of the evolution. (p.56) Another evolutionist A. Scheinfield in his book, The New You and Heredity states. It is through the rare instance of the favorable mutation, of innumerable kinds and countless numbers, occurring successfully over much extended period that the whole process of evolution may now be explained (p.476-1950) But after carrying out thousands of experience in mutation of different kinds the biologist had to acknowledge: H.J. Muller who received the Noble Prize in 1946 for his contributions to this field declaring the results of his experimentations said: Most mutations are bad, in fact good ones are so rare that we may consider them all as bad, (Times. Nov, 11, 1946 p.96). He also wrote in an article entitled Radiation and Human Mutation in Scientific American of Nov, 1955 saying: In more than 99 % cases the mutation of a gene produces some kind of harmful effect, some disturbance of function.

Dobzhanski who had very enthusiastically held that the mutations produce changes into gene had to acknowledge, A majority of mutations both those rising in laboratories and those stored in natural population, produce deterioration of the viability, heredity diseases and monstrosities. Such changes it would seem, can hardly serve as evolutionary building blocks. (Genetics and the Origin of Species p.73) The seventh century Divine Book the Qur’an could not be challenged that declared: The nature ordained by Allah (God) in which he hath created man. There is no altering to the laws of God’s creation. (30:30) Now I revert back to our main topic to find if science recognizes Adam as father of mankind. We have learnt from the science that the earth – from the sun – was like a fireball. So when it cooled down it was a dead matter and the dead matter can’t revive life on its own. So one has to accept that Allah (God) created all life forms and created man. Allah said: Be dutiful to your Lord. Who created you from a single soul (Adam). And from it created its mate, and from them twain spread abroad a multitude of men and women. (4:1) (Literal translation) Allah the Glorious, the Exalted pointing to His Omnipotence who created you from one lineage that He initiated from Adam and from him He created his mate (Eve). Now we shall see scientifically how could this lineage result in the multitude of men and women.

Science has unraveled a very amazing fact concerning heredity. It has established that neither mutations nor natural selection or any other factor advocated by evolutionists could result in making a different life form from previous form. Science has revealed a precise mechanism which fulfills the genesis law of reproduction only after its kind. This mechanism is found in the substance known as DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid) within living cell. DNA has been found to be a carrier of inheritance code in living things.

DNA is a microscopic computer with a built in memory. It stores a fantastic number of blue prints and at the right time and place it issues the orders to build all the cells and structures of every plant, animal and human beings. This DNA is the chemical compound of which genes are made. DNA preserves all forms of life within their basic kinds. The amazing DNA keeps the organism within the bounds originally set for it allowing no alterations in it. It cannot deviate from it except by an accident such as radiation from outside cell, which results in impairment or death as was experienced at Hiroshima and Nagasaki by Atomic Bombs thrown by USA in 1945.

Scientists are unanimous that living cell has retained its shape in all the ages after its creation in the body of Adam. Same is the case of animal and plant cells. Geneticists have found that heredity information for all species is determined by the sequence of the nitrogenous bases in the DNA molecule. Gene has one thousand or more such units strung together in a long thread. The genes in turn make a chromosome. A human cell has tens of thousand genes into 23 pairs of chromosome. These genes make for a fantastic variety with in a kind. This is why in the case of human family hardly any two people look alike, even though there are more than four billion people on earth today and yet they all remain within human-kind.

Over and above the heredity carrier DNA, there is conclusive evidence establishing Adam the father of mankind. There is tremendous gulf, which separates man from animal with regard to mental ability. Of all the living things, man is the only one who can continue to improve his knowledge. Animal can learn few things but they never progress beyond a certain point.

The chimpanzee is much superior to other non-human primates in memory, imagination and learning capability. But all efforts to educate chimpanzee or any other of the Ape family (of which human is claimed to be begotten by Darwin) have failed. They soon exhaust their capability to learn new things and can’t go beyond because their DNA allows for noting more.

How wonderful is the creation of man! When God created him to be His vicegerent on the earth there was a challenge as to his mental capability of Adam against angles and Jinn. (Satan was Jinn among angels) and these three are considered as prudent.

The Holy Qur’an details this. He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels saying: Inform Me of the names if ye are truthful. And He (God) taught Adam all the names. Names include the names of all the things, their nature characteristic and actions (Ibn Kathir). So the mind of Adam could absorb all the knowledge just after his creation. It is great miracle with regard to his mental capability, which finally established his superiority over others.

Therefore, human mind is not the outcome of evolution but it is a great gift with which God blessed Adam the father of mankind and children of Adam are quite distinct from all living beings due to their mental powers.

An Anthropologist Lorren C. Eisely said, that the arrival of human brain measured in geological terms, appears to have been surprisingly sudden. This huge mushroom of a brain, which has arisen magically between night and morning. When I say that the human brain exploded, I meant no less. (Scientific American Dec. 1953) An evolutionist H. Melleresh said, His is a different brain, admittedly superior in more than degree, yet in so great a degree as to constitute something new in the world. (The story of Man by H.E. Melleresh)

Man whether oriental, occidental, civilized or primitive has about the same high potential that creates a vast gulf between mankind and animal kind.

Muslims have two great festival in a year , that is Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr after the month of Ramadan , That Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha considers as a gift of fasting whole month , Muslims Do that Because that is Allah’s for ummah of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W .

History of the Eid al-Adha is different and really interesting; The Muslims celebrate that in the month of Zil-Hajj on 10th of Dhu’l-Hijja. Muslims for whole of the word celebrate this day in accomplishment and to commemorate the faith of Abraham. Allah gives name to Abraham in Quran khalil-ul-Allah, The friend of Allah.

Many years back Abraham was born in idol-worshipping tribe of Chaldea. At his childhood he was among the kuffar , But Allah had brightened his heart with the light of truth. That’s why He doesn’t adopt them. Clarity of his heart toward Allah revealed when he had dream that he was sacrificing his own son. Then for fulfilling the command of his Allah next day he sacrificed camels. And distributed it among the poor in the name of Allah, As Allah commanded him in dream. But on next day he dreamed the same, and he was bit worried because he had already fulfilled the command by Allah. But Next day he did the same he sacrificed camels again. And he prayed to Allah to accept that.

But one the third night he had same dream; he saw he was sacrificing his on son Ishmael. On that day instead of sacrificing camels he called to his beloved son and told him a whole story.

(The Quran: 37:102)

“O my son! I have seen thee being sacrificed in a dream; what sayest thou?”

His son had a strong believe on his father and because of that without any question he replied in yes. Yes father I am ready.

(The Quran: 37:102).

“O my father! Do what thou art commanded; if God please, thou wilt find me of the patient ones”

So Father and the son bother were get ready for accomplished the command by ALLAH.

They went far away from house on the hills side. Daemons tried hard to restrain him from this act, because that act was for ALLAH When he was going to cut the throat of his son, his eyes where close and he cut the throat but not of his son but a goat from heaven. They accomplished their mission to fulfill the command of ALLAH.

Most of the verses on the subject had not been expounded on. In the recent past a lot of emphasis has been put to appreciate the verses fully. Due to lack of proper scientific awareness, improper translations & commentaries it had been extremely difficult to interprate the verses. The urge to get information on embryology began long ago during the times of prophet Muhammad when questions were asked extensively on the verses relating to human production and embryology. The Hadith literature is used as the basis of answers of the Apostle.

Different Islamic scholars have done several translations of some of the verses in the Quraan touching on this subject matter. Sheikh Abdul Majid Zendani, a great professor of Islamic studies in one of the leading universities in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is one of such scholars. He translated the statement from Sura 39:6.

Information on illustration of foetus development in the womb is equally documented to have been drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th Century. It is also documented that Galen described the placenta and the development of foetus in one of his books called On the Formation of the Foetus. This was done far much earlier in the 2th century AD.

It is also well recorded in history that doctors in the 7th century A.D. knew very well that the foetus developed in the womb. Earlier explanations of the same had been provided by Aristotle in the 4th century B.C. Details into the development of the foetus was given far much later in the 15th century from the records available. However, more was discovered upon the discovery of the microscope in the 17th century by Leeuwenhoek. This made it easier to provide clear descriptions on the early stages of development of the foetus. Final descriptive explanations came in 1941 when Streeter developed the first system of staging. The most comprehensive explanation was given by O’Rahilly in 1972: he described the three stages of human development as to be confined to the anterior abdominal wall, uterine wall and then the amniochorionic membrane.

Sura 23:13 is equally a verse on the human development and embryology. It focuses on the zygote which later splits to form a blastocyst which then implanted in the uterus where it develops into a human being. Sura 23:14 is equally interpreted and is another important verse on the subject matter. It describes the human embryo from the days 7-24 when it usually clings to the endometrium of the uterus. The Sura describes in details the development of the foetus as compared to the verses.

Sura 32:9 describes the development the human senses. It describes the development in a certain order i.e. the appearance of the appearance of the primordial of the internal ears first followed by the eyes and lastly the brain differentiates.

Sura 22:5 illustrates that the embryo is mainly composed of differentiated and undifferentiated tissues. The tissues described are the mesechyme and the cartilage bones. The mesechyme usually differentiates later into the muscles and ligaments. The verse also acknowledges the fact that God determines which embryo would stay in the uterus till full term and whether it will be a boy or a girl.

The science of modern embryology has facilitated to a great extent the understanding of the verses in the Quraan on embryology and human development. The science has afforded many followers of prophet Muhammad a new understanding of the subject matter.

In this modern world the life style of people is totally different then old times. This current world gives a new shape to the Muslim world also. To live in this faster world Muslim society changed their life style greatly which has both the positive and negative effect.

Modern Islam is helps to create a good number of educated Muslim. For different reason a big part of Muslim world went under the black whole of illiteracy. This made a great harm to the Muslim world. Currently, this modern world is breaking that clutter and this is greatly important for Muslim world.

Modern Islam gives the equal chance to the man and woman on the basis of Islamic law, but in past it was not possible. This helps greatly to improve the quality of life. Educated woman are helping Muslim society to get a good position in this world. Modern Islam is doing more research Quran which is the complete solution of life. This research helps the world people to get clearer picture of Islam. Modern Islam is making the life of Muslims so easier and giving clearer picture of Islam.

Islam is the religion of peace. Islam is the only religion which gives the perfect peaceful life to a human. This religion never supported any type of fighting. It only gives the permission to go for Zihad only for established Islam, but still there are many condition is in there. Now, the general pardon after triumph of Makkah is another example of peaceful Islam.

Before the triumph of Islam, the enemies of Islam did a great harm the greatest prophet Hazarat Muhammad sm. For them Hazrat Muhammad sm did not able to lead his life perfectly. Even, the enemies of Islam made the road imperfect while the last prophet was walking through that road.

While he was in Makkah, enemies of Islam tried to kill him many times. For them Hazrat Muhammad sm left Makkah. These people not only did this harm to Last prophet Hazat Muhammad sm, but they also did a great harm to Islam. They filled kabba with 360 idols and stones. They killed lots of Muslims. They did not allowed the normal Muslim people to did the normal activities of Islam religion.

Even these enemies did a great harm to this Islam, but after the triumph of Makkah, the greatest prophet Hazrat Muhammad sm, gave a general pardon to all of these enemies. This is an example of peaceful Islam.

Islam is one of the oldest religions of this world. The history of this religion is so depth than others. In different times Islam was spread by different prophets, but Islam established in this world after the revolution of the greatest prophet Hazrat Muhammad sm.

He was the last prophet and in his time world got the holy Quran which was the complete solution of life. As he was the last prophet so, after his death, Muslim world was starting to follow the holy Quran and Hadith to lead their life which helped to create a healty history of Islam.

After the death of Hazrat Muhammad sm, the Islam got four Caliphs for governing the entire Islamic world. They Caliphs are – Abu Bakr, Umar, Usman and finally Ali. These four Caliphs were so close to Hazrat Muhammad sm. These four Caliphs ran the whole Islamic world under the strong rules and regulation of Quran. They made different laws and regulation for the Islamic world based on the Sharia. These Caliphs are known as rightly guided Caliphs.

After the end of these four Caliph’s time, different person came into power. Among them in the time of Abbasids Islam was greatly enriched in every sectors. That was known as “The Golden Age” of Islam. After the time Islam was spread in different countries which helped to make the history of Islam more healthy.

As you may know that before Islam subcontinent most of the people followed Hinduism. Sikhs were also in quite a number. It is believed that Islam had started in subcontinent with the event of splitting of moon into two halves by Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. At that time a Hindu Maharaja saw the event happening live and called his subordinates to find out who has done this miracle.

He came to know about Holy Prophet . He was told that there is a messenger of Allah who teaches oneness of God and denies any distinction or discrimination on the basis of region, color, gender or social status; he calls it religion of Islam. It is narrated that he accepted Islam as his religion. That was the start of Islam in subcontinent.

After that the major event that is believed to bring the wave of Islamic revolution in subcontinent after which most of the people started accepting Islam as their religion was the entry of Muhammad Bin Qasim. It is narrated that the Muslims had came to Sind to help the Muslims already living there. Whatever the reality is, it stands a s a solid point that the local people of subcontinent were so impressed by the believes and behavior of Muslims.

As the locals observed extreme discrimination on the basis of race, the peaceful and tolerant religion fascinated them and the started to enter the circle of Islam. The advent of Islam in subcontinent depicts the true picture of influence of one’s character on the people around.

Islam is a religion of peace and tranquility. This is precisely the reason why it was spread after its advent. Before Islam was introduced in this world in its complete form, the world was in darkness. The sense of values and morality was found nowhere. Even educated people were full of immorality. But it was Islam who came into this world, spread peace and learning. People polished themselves and became civilized.

Even today, the question is raised that whether Islam was spread on the tip of sword in this world or not, the anti Islamic parties fully participate in proving Islam to be a religion that was spread on sword. but they fail to realize that Islam is a religion of peace. And how can it be spread on authoritative basis. The fact is that it conquered people’s hearts and minds. And so they entered into Islam in great numbers.

People from all over the world enter into Islam and become a part of the great Muslim Ummah. When they enter Islam, they become brother and sisters of each other. They get a feeling of being accepted by all Muslims whether they know them or not. This is precisely the reason, Islam spread so rapidly. Exactly like the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) indented. The four caliphs continued to spread Islam the same way as the Prophet did in his lifetime.

Islam is the second largest religion in the world with large number of true followers that makes one fifth of the entire population. The believers stick fast to their beliefs of oneness of God and that there is no God but Allah Subhana wa Tallah. Islam is called the religion of peace and its teachings are meant for increasing the universal harmony, love and tranquility. At present, more than a billion people who follow the faith of Islam settled around the world are making Islam as one of the largest religions on the planet across the globe.

The teachings of Islam are not at all based on any ambiguities and are illuminating the hearts of believers. As many consider that Islam is merely fulfillment of certain obligations is wrong. A misconception that becomes the root cause of problems for many Muslims it is. Because along with the duties and obligations or the way a person should behave and act are all predefined in the holy book Quran but without understanding their spirit and essence a person cannot benefit him or her with their actual effects and blessings.

Prophet Muhammad SAAS gave the Muslims practical example of how to live one’s life. He SAAS became the perfect model for the Muslims and the monotheist followers are advised to follow the footsteps of holy prophet Muhammad SAAS. But it is not just only verbal acceptance that matters here. In order to become the true follower you need to learn the essence of Islam. Islam, Quran and Sunah are going to remain unchanged or without any deformation till the Day of Judgment. However, the believer must adhere in his or her heart the true meanings of embracing Islam.

In reality, the religion Islam is broad spectrum and enshrines lot more meanings than merely being monotheistic or following the obligations. Islam means submission. Submission of one’s self to the One and Only God. He, who created the heavens and earths and all that lies in between with His immense knowledge, power and strength that is beyond the grasp of any logic, wisdom or mind.

The personal name of God or ism e zaat as believed by the Muslims is Allah. To become a true Muslim the person needs to strive for the submission. Submission to Allah SUbhana wa Tallah means total surrender and faith that no other deity or divine being is there except Allah who can give benefit or detrimental. However, the beliefs of many Muslims are a shaken and they have forgotten the essence of all the teachings of Islam. Their ignorance and less understanding of the depth or spirit of Islam is what that is keeping them divided and at loss.
