Human body is actually a combination of systems which work in a coordinated manner to keep you in a healthy and active state. There are natural defense mechanisms included in human body by Allah Almighty which work by killing the harmful and unwanted pathogens. But humans are prone to get ill and suffer from many different diseases throughout their lives.

We all get sick and then recover and this happens very often. Sometimes illnesses are short lived and sometime they are of more serious nature, but there are many medical aids which have been devised to take care of people who are ill. When a person gets sick our first preference is always to go to a good doctor, but have you ever thought that what is concept of illness and its cure in Islam?

In Islam a disease is not normally associated with the outcomes of sin or a punishment in fact it is considered as a testing period for the diseased person and also your sins are washed away during the period in which you suffer from the consequences of an illness. Allah almighty wants to test that how you will react when subjected to physical stress and pain. Will you stay obedient and thankful or you will start being unthankful to him. It is dependent upon you that what kind of behavior you will adopt if you want you can fall into the darkness of despair or take this as an opportunity of seeking mercy from Allah Almighty.

There are prayers some of which have been described in Holy Quran while others mentioned by our beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH which should be narrated by the diseased person during his illness. Let us have a look at some of the Du`a which have been dictated by Allah almighty and Prophet Muhammad PBUH and can be used for getting rid of illness.

It has been mentioned in Quran that:

“Truly distress has captured me, but You are Most kind of those that are merciful”

This is the prayer which was said by Prophet Ayub.

At the time of our beloved Prophet PBUH when Muslims used to get sick they ask for advice from the messenger of Allah Almighty. It has been stated that he used to recite the below mentioned prayer for the sick persons

Allahuma rabbi-nas adhhabal ba’sa, ashfi wa entashafi, la shifa’ illa shifa’uka shifa’ la yughadiru saqama.

It is recommended that while reciting this Du`a you should touch the region which is in pain with right hand. In this prayer a person begs to Allah almighty who is the sustainer to remove the disease and cure it. Also it is stated that no other person has the power of curing the illness other than Allah Almighty.

Another Du`a is being mentioned below

As’alu Allah al ‘azim rabbil ‘arshil azim an yashifika

In this prayer a person begs to Allah Almighty for the cure of his illness. It is recommended to do the repetition of this prayer 7 times.

Finally a person should never lose hope and never wish for death during his illness because this is not liked by Allah Almighty.

Literally tawba means ‘to return’ or ‘to retreat’. In Muslim law, it suggests that to show or to retreat from past sinful and evil actions. The word tawba has been related to the word نصوح (nasūh) which suggests ‘to ameliorate or sincere’. Therefore tawba signifies sincere and trustworthy compunction, free from pretense and hypocrisy.

Like several alternative topics, the act of atoning and seeking Allah’s forgiveness has additionally been mentioned within the sacred text with a lot of importance. For those fans who have wronged themselves, the Qur’an asks them to become remorseful, request Allah’s forgiveness, and build a sincere tawba, and assures them that if they are doing this, God can forgive them, and label them from their misdeeds.

Islam doesn’t read any soul as being inerrant. Any soul is subject to errors, God being the sole excellent one. Therefore the only authority for the forgiveness of any soul corresponds to God. Muslims deny the authority of men to concentrate to a different person’s confessions so pronounce him forgiven of his sin. Likewise repenting to anyone besides God is prohibited.

According to Muslim law, once associate act of tawba is performed by a Muslim, God usually accepts it. However, that tawba ought to be sincere and true. Muslim students agree upon the actual fact that if an individual isn’t mortified of his past misdeeds, or doesn’t intent to desert those, then his verbal effort of tawba is an open mockery of compunction. Mere verbal compunction doesn’t account for a real tawba. A sincere tawba has some criteria. Hazrat Ali was asked on what’s tawba, and he replied that tawba consists of six elements:

To regret one’s past evil deeds;

To hold out Divine duties that were missed;

To come back the rights/properties of others that were taken unjustly;

To raise forgiveness of an creature who has been wronged, verbally or physically;

To form a firm resolve of avoiding the sin in future; and

To use oneself in Allah’s obedience, as he antecedently utilized himself in Allah’ disobedience.

In Muslimm law, tawba could be a twofold approach: an individual initial ought to be able to acknowledge and desert his/her sins upon that God guarantees to forgive them. Islam expects Muslims to understand their mistakes and shortcomings, and to hunt His forgiveness. Forgiveness for one’s sins isn’t one thing that comes automatically; it’s one thing that has got to be exploring for, with sincereness and true devotion.

One ought to renew compunction each once one remembers past sins and once falls into them again:

If one remembers a past sin it’s suggested to renew one’s compunction and seeking forgiveness, whereas being appreciative to God for the success of exploit the sin; and

If one falls into a similar sin once more it’s obligatory to renew one’s compunction, albeit one keeps falling into the sin repeatedly.

The scholar’s caution, however, that one isn’t expected to do to bring back mind all one’s past sins and repent from them. Rather, a general compunction from past sins is each valid and decent.

There are mixed views of how Westerners tend to think of Islamic societies and how the Islamic societies perceive the Westerners as. In comparison to their own society, the Westerners think that the Islamic societies are backward-looking, oppressed by religion and inhumanely governed. This is because the Westerners practice enlightened secular democracies. Islam is not just a religion, nor is it some fundamentalist political movement.

Islam is a civilization, a way of life that is lived differently in every Islamic country. However, there is a common spirit amongst them all, which is much more humane than the Westerners realize. The Westerners often fail to realize how their own societies have been unable to live up to their liberal mythology. Westerners regard aspects of Islamic culture as medieval, without realizing that many of the aspects have prevailed in their own culture until fairly recently. Islamic societies might only be a few decades behind the Westerners in terms of technology.

With the progress in technology and society, much of the values have changed in the Western Society. With the developments in technology, much of the Islamic countries are also facing numerable changes. Until World War II, the West disapproved of pre-marital sex. Outside marriage, sex was against many of the laws. These laws are still prevalent in many of the books; nevertheless, it is rarely enforced. Sex before marriage is common today. According to the Islamic Shariah laws, indulging in sexual practices before marriage is a sin and is condemned.

Until the 1960’s, homosexual acts between males was a crime in Great Britain (lesbianism was not outlawed). Now, such acts between males and females have been legalized in most parts of the West. They argue that laws against the homosexuals are violation of gays and lesbians’ rights. The Islamic traditions do not support any kind of a relationship between gays and lesbians.

There is a stark contradiction between modernity and Islam. Most of the people of the West symbolize their customs and traditions as modern, whereas, those of the Islamic countries are seen as conservative and conventional. By definition, Islam and modernity are in conflict.

Modernity cannot compete with Shariah.

Many people argue that it is due to Western Imperialism that there is so much violence associated with the Islamic nations. Others are of a strong opinion that the resentment is because of the suffering of the Muslims at the hands of the Europeans during the colonialism. Their religion and the lands were distorted and the Muslims, who were once the rulers, were oppressed and treated as slaves.

Most of the Westerners associate increasing numbers of population with the crime. In recent years, the Muslim states have experienced an explosion in the population. In most cases this has resulted in unemployment which eventually leads to crime. This crime is because of the social disruption caused by the unemployed.

The Westerners largely blame the Muslim world and the various traditions and customs that they follow. Similarly, the Muslims blame the West for creating so many problems in their religion with the newly enlightened concept of modernity.

London: Around 13 Brits convert to Islam daily and more than half of those are white and 75 per cent are women.

It is not easy for anyone to change his/her religion and adopt the lifestyle so dramatically but a Police Community Support Officer Jayne Kemp, 28, did this and set an example for others.

Jayne Kemp who left her Catholic roots behind after “falling in love” with Islam while helping victims of so-called honour violence and now plans to change her name to Aminah.

Jayne Kemp patrols her beat wearing a traditional hijab headscarf and even works extra time after shifts so she can attend Friday prayers at her mosque, The Sun reports.

Devout Jayne converted to Islam last April and even plans to change her name to Aminah.

“I thought Islam was all about women being forced to slave away in the kitchen — but I found out it was about being generous with your time, and patient and respectful of others,” she told the paper.

“As I looked into it, I saw similarities with Catholicism and noticed values such as looking after your neighbours and cherishing the elderly, which is something older people say younger people don’t do any more.

Devoted Jayne even missed out on celebrating Christmas with her son, nine, and daughter, seven. She sent them off to their dad’s and cooked her own meal so it would be halal — the meat slaughtered in the manner prescribed by Sharia law.

“My family, in general, are supportive. If I’m happy, they’re happy. My sister said I’m the happiest she’s ever seen me.”

Jayne was inspired to convert to Islam after chatting to other Muslims on Twitter.

Muhammad Manzoor, who runs Muslim Twitter account Local Masjid from his home in Whalley Range, Manchester, helped her make the transition. via, thenewstribe

Ramadhan is one of the twelve months of the Muslims calendar. It is the ninth lunar month and holds special significance as Muslims all around the world fast during this month. Ramadhan is the month of blessings, sacrifice and sympathy for all Muslim community. Has this month anything to do with Christianity, Hinduism or Buddhism too? This short article is about the concept of Ramadhan in religions except Islam.

Let’s begin with seeing what the Islam has to say about this concept. The Holy Quran addresses Muslims and says: ”O you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed upon you as it was prescribed on those before you so that you may learn self-restraint “.

Analyzing this you can see that at the time of Prophet (S.A.W), the concept of fasting already existed, and nations before Islam used to fast. But did they fast in Ramadhan? Ramadhan, historians claim, was a month whose significance existed even before Islam the arrival of Islam. It was called Natiq at that time, a month that fell in the warm seasons.

However there is no cogent evidence supporting the claim that Ramadhan held the same importance at that time that it enjoys these days. It only gained importance in the era of Holy Prophet because of the fact that the last revelation Holy Quran was sent down in this month. The Holy Quran has also emphasized on the importance of Ramadhan on many occasions.

If you compare the concept of fasting in all religions, you get to know that all religions prescribe fasting in one way or the other. In Christianity, Christians have been advised to fast. In fact, the Bible says that fasting does not only mean abstinence from food and water, and a fast in which one does not care for the poor is unacceptable. Christian historians have chronicled incidences when the Christ himself kept fast too.

The nature of fasting varies for different sects of Christianity, i.e. some sections abstain from meat and milk only while others fast for an entire day, but the essence remains the same. Even in Islam, a fast is meant to experience the sufferings of underprivileged and for learning self-restraint.

In Hinduism, the concept of fasting is slightly different. However, fasting has been prescribed for them too. Some Hindus fast on Mondays while others fast on Tuesday. Some fast on Thursday too the reason for this variation in fasting is because Hindus fast particularly for a certain goddess or god. Followers of Hinduism fast from after the sunset of previous day to 48 minutes after sunrise. Non-vegetarian Hindus cannot even touch any animal product during fasting; milk is an exception though.

Similarly, the concept of fasting is also present in Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism and other religions. Ramadhan is of enormous importance to Muslims only but fasting has its roots in most religions.

Among burning topics on the international social forums, one of the most highlighted debates to be discussed is whether Islam imposes limitations on the rights of a person or not. People linked with different religions are somewhat disagreed with the beliefs and values that Allah has guided us through Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). The reason behind this blazing attitude towards Muslim community may be because after Christianity, Islam has become the second fastest growing religion on Earth.

However, wise scholars around the globe have come up with the logics related to what Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) had brought 1400 centuries ago for the betterment of human beings. World’s renowned authors list Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) on the top among greatest other men because he (P.B.U.H) had delivered clear ideas of how a person can lead his life to the road of success.

Allah had given the most valuable yet difficult duty to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) to spread the message of unity, faith and peace so that a person would be able to sort out his own issues in accordance with the mentioned directions in Islam. Along with this, Allah has awarded humans with some rules to live in world so that a person can live a worthy life. If we analyze thoroughly the guided rules for life from the book of Quran, we will find out that Islam was the first religion that has proved and bound every human to be educated.

There was no other religion but Islam who had granted an opportunity to both men and women, to be educated, organized and cultured. For this purpose, if they have to leave their country then they are totally allowed to achieve their ultimate goals and objectives.

Nowadays, the most important issue that has become a bone of contention in many countries is Hijab. Numerous people believe that Hijab is the limitation that prohibits a woman to live liberally. In reality when you indulge for the ground reason, you will find that how much useful women’s Hijab is in front of men.

Hijab is a protective shield that guards a woman from the evil minds of society. Not only women should cover her body properly but also Allah has ordered in the Holy book of Quran to men that they should lower their gaze, when a woman passes by their way. So, man and woman are equally advised to protect themselves from the devil’s trap. You can observe that in other religions, rate of rape is extremely high because those people are fully exposed and exploitation of each other is a norm. They should keep the secrecy and adhere to the guidelines to keep the privacy. Exhibition of private masculine and feminine body parts is strictly forbidden in Islam.

Islam is the paramount religion that brings about the equality of rights between female and male. If a person is distressed from severe circumstances in his life then he just needs to peek into what Allah Almighty has told about those particular issues to live life in peace. He or she should know his or her rights and perform duties accordingly to please their Allah Subhana Wa Tallah.

Any person who is genuinely devoted to Allah, the prophet and his teachings, is quite often given to dreams in which the Prophet or Allah, or infrequently both, appear to them. These dreams usually leave the person refreshed and filled with joy and thankfulness to Allah at their visions. The dreams are seen as a positive future, both on earth and when the person dies and is welcomed into Allah’s presence.

Sometimes the dreams tell of good fortune coming and this usually will come true. As does the feeling of lightening of the soul that these devout people often experience. These dreams are often alluded to as the person having them being allowed to glimpse the future as far as Allah permits. These dreams, if good, also signify that the dreamer is on the right path towards Allah and is to be blessed.

The dreams can signify different things when deciphered at different times of the day. Mornings are usually positive, but evenings or afternoons can be the opposite. Dreaming of nasty things, like snakes or scorpions usually means that the person is not on track according to Allah’s wishes and needs to repent and admit to their sins. Although if a grave is opened, there will only be found the normal bones of a human body and no sign of a snake’s remains or that of a scorpion the idea is ingrained from whence the person has the dream.

When a person sleeps their soul is thought to go to Allah who returns it the next morning. If He is pleased with them, they will return refreshed and energised, if not, they will have a restless sleep and be grumpy and tired the next day because of the lack of restful sleep. People may say that they do not dream. This is untrue, as the body does dream, but often the mind covers the dreams in a cloak of secrecy because they have been too unpleasant to recall. Even good dreams may fall victim to this type of censorship by the person’s own mind. The mind is conditioned to deny things that may mean something is going to drastically change a comfortable life, or a personal one, therefore dreams are not always given their due.

Dreams are not straight-forward, either in message or appearance, but, should the person seeking enlightenment continue on, they will make sense. Some may be about something that is weighing heavily on the person’s mind which may be work or personal reasons. Other times, if the person is extremely devout, they may simply be affirmations of this to the person’s inner self should some small doubt have surfaced? Many dreams may simply be a reflection of the way the person is feeling, or an illness that has not been suspected, and may be a warning of this potential problem.

There is a lot of confusion concerning this word: tasawwuf. Whereas the Quran and Sunnah are held as the highest point in a Muslim’s obedience creed, tasawwuf is mistakenly thought to supersede the two. This view is held by many people and has split the Muslim faith into two distinct camps of which one abides by the Quran and Hadith, the other by tasawuff.

Actually, the tasawuff is a later part of the Shariah, relating to feelings of the heart, and very much a part of the older religion. Every external deed is for the betterment of the heart’s feelings and thus allowing a person to pass happily into the afterlife. If this unconditional love is not obtained, then the person is destroyed inside. It is the growth of this love, the desire is to have Divine pleasure and it gives total obedience to the orders of the Shariah that makes it what it is.

Tasawuff exists purely to purify the heart from every lowly desire, lust, jealousy, nastiness whether by deed or speech, vanity and all the negatives that live in a Man’s heart and words. In return it wishes to clothe the heart with all things that are above these other emotions. These are fear of Allah, trust, love, truth, pure thoughts, and all that will make a Man worthy of attention in the afterlife, but most especially Allah’s mercy and love. This is its primary reason for existing and its soul.

To determine the problems of the heart in these issues is usually placed in the hands of a Shaykh or teacher. This person in turn has to be qualified according to the Shariah rulings, have had teachings by a suitably qualified Shaykh, who is respected by his followers, has no interest in worldly wealth for himself, tries very sincerely to teach his followers with education and morality, and has the needed religious knowledge, among other things. This person does not have to produce karamat or miracles, nor do they need to be able to see the future. Indeed, if they do, they may not be a Shaykh at all.

In order to follow the teachings of tasawuff it is good if you find a Shaykh whom you trust and like, for it will make your conversion easier. Once you have found this person, then there is a promise shared between you both in that he guides you and you follow him. There are several parts which the initiate vows to pursue, of which are to start an everyday self-assessment before going to bed in order to repent the bad ones and give thanks to Allah for the good ones, make sure that your eyes, ears and tongue are watched strictly to prevent doing or saying the wrong things, develop a humbleness whereby you do not judge others for what they do or think you are better than them, remember Allah frequently and other items which are part of this ritual.

Around 425 of his books are on paper and published while the remaining 575 books are going through the procedure of being in the hardcopy. His books are so acclaimed that they have been translated in to different languages. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri’s resurrecting, revitalizing, amending and reconstructive labours and harmony dynamics abide notable and significant connotation and embrace a consummate spot in promoting the grounds of world peace and human rights, metastasizing the factual Islamic assurance and belief and propagating portentous scrutiny exertion and discoursing the ideas of the Quran and Sunnah.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered a sermon titled as “Islam on Peace, Integration and Human Rights” in Manchester. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri disagrees that terrorists and traitors have strayed and trespassed from the right, canonical wisdom of Islam and their defiant and mutinous fortitude of brutality, aggression and spiritual radicalism and fanaticism is a permanence of the Khawarij. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri portrays intimidation as an “ideological contagion “Suicide assaults are strictly prohibited in Islam, these activities and conducts are un-Islamic, the massacre and killing of innocent mankind in any creed, conviction or kingdom, and violence in all its demonstrations, are thoroughly in negation with the tradition of Islam.” Last but not the least Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has the right ability to speak to the heart and souls of his listeners, he conveys them the right and factual message and preaching of Islam.

Wet dreams are accepted as part of a male’s growing into maturity, but little is talked about of this natural occurrence in a young woman. Both sets of the genders mirror each other in most things, so why should this be any different? As the prophet has said, Allah has made a carbon copy of each sex internally, so what happens in one body will happen in the other.

Female ejaculation in Islam is seen to be a part of the natural evolving of the body, leading into puberty. It can occur around the time of the development of breasts and hair under the armpits and in the genital region. This can be as early as eight, or it may delay until the female child is over ten. Unless there is something abnormal, this is simply a part of growing into maturity and becoming ready for potential child-bearing. Some corruption is responsible for the emphasis on sex; therefore anything that seems out-of-the-ordinary is made out to be different, although it has existed since Man was created. Another reason for the lack of information is that many lecturers are male and women can be very shy about discussing their concerns about this phenomenon with them, including their doctor.

If a person experiences one of these wet dreams during genuine sleep, then it is perfectly natural and no blame can be placed on the person concerned. Although a female’s vagina is always moist due to normal secretions, a female ejaculation, like the man’s, increases this moisture and is usually a sign that this has occurred. Although it may not be as much as the male’s, it is usually accompanied by erotic dreams or feelings and often culminates in a feeling of satisfaction.

If this has occurred then the person should cleanse themselves by washing or ghusal, as the prophet advised. As the person grows in maturity and control of their body, it is often possible to control these urges, but, as they occur during sleep, most people cannot. Many people wake just before ejaculation, with a vague memory of fullness in the genital area, but cannot recall any reason for it being so. In puberty, it is simply a release from sexual dreams.

Umm Salamah said: “Umm Sulaym came to the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alihi wasalam, and said, “O Messenger of Allah, Allah is not too shy to tell us the truth. Does a woman have to do ghusl if she has a wet dream?

” The Prophet said: “Yes, if she sees water (a discharge).” Umm Salamah covered her face and said, “O Messenger of Allah, can a woman have an erotic dream?”He said, “Yes, may your hands be rubbed with dust. How else would her child resemble her?” (Bukhari)

It is thought to be a very wise parent, preferably the mother, who discusses this symptom with her daughter, before she reaches the age of puberty. Otherwise she will almost certainly be given quite the wrong idea from her classmates or even a teacher who is not comfortable with the topic. Most women are not comfortable with talking about the subject either, but it is a natural part of life and growing, and if she reflects, she may remember this happening in her early life also, so there really should be no embarrassment in talking to your daughter about it.

Nikah is the Islamic word for a marriage contract in which the bride and the groom promises in front of relatives usually close family members of both the sides to accept each other for the rest of their lives.

The importance of Nikah can be understood through the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who replied when once asked “What is more important than prayers”, he replied, “the spirit of prayer”, similarly when asked what was more important than fasting the answer was the spirit of fasting and so for everything else I Islam the most important thing is the spirit behind the action as it is the main guide which leads to action. So in this case what is more important than the marriage is its spirit which in this case is the Nikah?

NIKAH is a binding between two souls which can be conducted either at a single place where both the groom and bride are present or the help of the modern technology can also be taken and nowadays telephone and internet is also being used for conducting Islamic marriages or the Nokah.

The Hijab, which is the Arabic word of the veil is much emphasized is Islam and is considered a part of it as Islam lays much stress on the covering of a Muslim women in every age and step. In many societies Hijab is considered as a cultural part and something that is not a part of the Islamic religion however this is not the case. Anything that is deemed as cultural tends to have its roots from common practices and customs that have been living through for a long time now. Rather the covering of the women which resided in the past and carried on as a cultural aspect was known as the “Jahiliyah” which covered the women rendering her as a lower being as compared to man.

Islam gave the concept of Hijab or a veil to make the women an equal part of the society rather earning her more respect and dignity in the society. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared clearly that it is incumbent upon every single Muslim to search for awareness no matter how far you have to go searching for it. Islam respects all women as equals in a society and the reason for recommending Hijab to them is only to provide them more self respect and an added bodily protection from the evils and wrongs of the society which are also a part of every civilization.

Women in Islam have many rights which were given to them 1400 years ago which are not well known even by many Muslims today. Women in Islam is give in some instances much more respect and honor than anything else and women are not just mere individuals to serve men or look after their homes or babies rather they are acknowledged as an individual being that has much self respect.

The future is not always predictable and clear. Humans, as subjective beings, can only make assumptions about the future. So many scientists draw theories and the so-called social sciences of humanities and arts but there is no law determining the unknown outcomes with 100% authenticity. But this does not go the same for Islam. Islam, the religion of peace and love will remain for a long time till there comes a time when the believers of this religion stop believing in God.

Islam will rule in near future as per according to the predictions by the holy prophet Muhammad sallalaho alayhi wasalam and Quran. Things are fast moving towards that direction and it is nearing the time when Muslims will rule the world as professed by the last messenger. And for all those predictions and prophecies to come true there is strong need for the Muslim world to come united as one.

There are certain trends these days that demand our attention though. Islam is presently the fastest growing religion throughout the world particularly when compared with Europe and America. According to a recent survey of the USA’s population, more than 50% of its infants are of a minority and within this minority the number of Muslims stands out. A wave of Islam has swept across the continent of Europe. A massive number of people have converted to the religion and the trend goes on with accelerated speed. This trend is a cause of some concern for the governments and traditionalists of both America and Europe.

The reason for mentioning this trend lies in the overwhelmingly obvious strategic and economic importance of these nations and areas. Both Britain and France are veto powers in the UNSC and both have the status of being first world countries (a status that is conferred upon many), unlike so-many countries from where Islam originated.

It is important to point out here another reason that may prove to be the determining factor in the victory of a nation which is also present in the nation (Muslim Ummah) – a common belief system or a common cause. It might sound very emotional and non practical but history says otherwise. Throughout the history of nations, only those who had a cause and a belief to live and fight for had survived and ruled.

A cause which has sound social, political and legal basis, be it the allies in the Second World War or Alexander the great, the reason behind it all is what matters the most. Muslims of today have both belief and a belief in the cause. Only the right kind of opportunity and the perfect amount of intensity is missing. But it is only a matter of time before this is achieved. Keeping in view the Arab Spring, the possibility of a trigger doesn’t seem remote.

Marriage in Islam is of huge importance. It is a sacred agreement between a man and a woman to be together in all times. The wed lock (Nikkah) allows the man and the woman to be together and grants this relationship a social, cultural, legal as well as religious/ holy permission to exist.

A typical Islamic marriage, one in which Islamic rules are being observed, is a symbol of love and unity. Islam prohibits dowry being obtained from the parents of the bride. The man is responsible for all the expenses. Islamic wedding parties are supposed to be attended by close family members and friends of the boy and the girl. This ceremony is supposed to be a simple one instead of being very pompous or elaborate.

Parents of the girl are to give only the essentials to their daughter. Hence it puts no economic or social pressure on them. This is different to Western traditions, where the bride’s parents are supposed to provide her with a dowry, as well as pay for the wedding.

Islam gives equal rights to man and woman. A woman has the right to file a divorce case under Islamic laws. Islam gives ultimate freedom to women by declaring that if a woman does not like her husband for some reason, she can get a divorce without further delay. A man is entitled to the same consideration.

A Muslim man is responsible for earning for the household. He is bound by Islamic law to keep his wife happy and comfortable otherwise the woman has the right to leave him. Again this varies greatly from the Westerner, who technically has to provide for the woman, but all too often does not. The Islamic system also propagates a separate family setup in which husband and wife are allowed to have personal privacy. In the Islam world, the husband has to be just in his relationship with his woman. This is despite the fact that Islam allows the man to marry four times but he must seek the first woman’s permission for it. It is allowed only if the man is capable of being just to all of them. In the Western world, this is forbidden and punishable in a court-of-law if the law of monogamy is broken.

Giving man and woman equal rights and conferring equal duties shows that Islam wants a house to be an institute where living together is not a compulsion. Living together should arise out of love and not be a compromise. Islam believes in love and pursues this aim in every walk of life with ultimate determination.

The incidence of the Twin Towers attack on 9/11 is probably the most significant developments of all time. It has altered the course of life in many ways.

The human race in general is the victim of the hawkish changes that this particular incident has brought. 9/11 attacks as well as the US/North waged “War on Terror” are both manmade disasters. They have significantly affected ‘man’ too. Although man in general is biggest sufferer in this backlash of the north, Islam is the one that has come under severe criticism ever since. The credit for the portrayal of Islam as a religion of terrorism and hatred goes to world media.

Islam is being portrayed vehemently as a religion of hatred and violence after Al-Qaeda took responsibility for the attacks. The religion of one man or organization has led to a worldwide defaming of an entire religion. Although the world media cannot be held responsible solely for this trend, yet they have really turned and tuned the masses against Islam worldwide. The role of media is to put the facts before the viewer and not to take sides in crucial times like these.

Instead of investigating the case of Islam as an instigator, Media has been molding public opinion against Islam with a dangerous authenticity. Every aspect of Islam is under the scrutiny of media. Media has been judging the religion without true knowledge and analysis of Islam. Quite surprisingly they have been seeing Islam from the same angle as terrorists- jihad and dictatorship. How are they any different then?

When it comes to faulty criticism, one case is that of ‘Veil or Hijab’. Veil is being worn by Muslim women in accordance with Quranic rule to prevent unnecessary attention that might endanger a woman’s security.

It does not reduce the importance of women in society or does not take away their political/ fundamental rights. However it is being presented in media as a tool for abolishing women’s status as an equal human being. A veil does not make a woman an inferior being as is portrayed by media. This portrayal is done on the basis of wrong analysis of human history and modified political facts.

Every precious object or whatever that you hold important in life is kept under a strict watch. Let’s say, woman is the most precious person in form of wife, mother, daughter or sister. Nobody would like their beloved women to be hurt or harmed. They would protect them. Same way for a woman her modesty is far more precious than anything in her life.

She protects her modesty and wishes to keep it safe. Let’s say if a woman is dressed up in a sexy outfit and goes to church. No one would pray but start staring at her because it is human nature to look at the unexpected. Islam only educates the females about their sense of duty and their sense of keeping their modesty intact and safe.

They are given a dress code and that is to protect them from evil gazers and those who are not her mehrum or relations. A woman feels protected and safe when veiled. It is her basic right so nobody should take that away from her. To show or not to show is entirely a person’s decision and it should not be subjugated in the name of religion.

In order to judge if Islam is a religion of hate or love, we first have to establish a standard procedure of judging the religion, a standard that might be the same for all the religions of this world. The necessity for a common definition or procedure of judgment is a prerequisite for contemporary scientific regime. Even apart from that if we judge a phenomenon without any solid grounds, it will come under the attack of emotions and sentiments and will lose authenticity.

Assuming that all religions are to be judged and evaluated by the established teachings of that very religion and not by the actions of its followers, all religions would present quite a different picture. Islam, if we judge the religion from its fundamental text (Holy Quran) and the Prophet of the religion (Mohammad (PBUH)) will appear to be one of the most peace loving and the most progressive of religions. If Islam is followed at its basics you will find that aggression is frowned upon.

Among the nations, Islam propagates peace and a friendly environment. Islam prohibits unnecessary wars, and strictly warns Muslims not to initiate a war unless for self defense. Law of war and prisoners of today is a derivative of the law presented by Mohammad (PBUH). Islam does not believe in random killing of the civilians, and acts of violence are not permitted outside the battlefield. Islam has very stringent rules against destruction of the property and lives of the civilians in a war and attempts to keep them separate from it.

Islam established the concept of equality 1400 years ago, when human civilization as a whole was nowhere near grasping the idea. Islam abolished slavery by freeing the slaves and Mohammad (PBUH) emphasized the point that all human beings, black or white, educated or illiterate, rich or poor, are created equal. No one holds any superiority over the others. This is important to note this was said in his last address to Muslims. He did not try to teach them tactics to conquer the world or fight their competitors; instead he taught them important lessons concerning humanity. This clarifies the basic theme of Islam- Humanity, love and collectiveness. Love and peace are basis of the religion despite the contradictory practice of some Muslims who have usually been influenced by other factors.

Islam is religion of peace and in Quran it is clearly mentioned that killing of a man is equal to the killing of whole of the humanity where as saving the life of a human is like saving the whole of the humanity. Those who are so called Muslims or those who are not the true followers of Islam have defamed and tried to hurt the image of Islam on purpose. Individuals acts of a person or group of people cannot be associated with the true teachings of Islam.

Islam is a worldwide religion, which has its root in the Arab countries. All over the world, Muslims mark all the activities as indicated in the holy book, the Quran. For a person of Islamic persuasion, they are bound to follow all the five pillars and live together in harmony and unity. The Quran has several teachings, which guide the followers on the different ways of living their life, concentrating on living in peace and harmony with others. This religion has grown stronger in the European nations with many different people taking up the daily teachings and following the rules of the religion.

Growth in economy

With the Islamic culture, they have their separate banking rules, which mainly focus on rules of interest. The development of such banks has led to massive increases in various projects. When one invest in such banks, it gets easier to access the loans, which do not have much interest. Some of the banks have different branches all over the globe and this makes it easier for one to access and make the transactions from any point.

When it comes to matters of insurance, the Islamic community has a good way of sharing the profit and the losses in such schemes. This makes it easier for the business people to invest in such schemes since they are based on the religious teachings and hard for one to get scammed. However this should not be taken as total, as everything involving money always has some risk.

Education

When it comes to education, the Islamic community centers on the holy teachings and this means the students have to enroll for the Arabic lessons to learn the Quran will. This has led to the development of Islamic schools, which enable the children to understand and follow all the teachings easily. These schools get the funding from mosques, and other Islamic organizations, and the aim is to offer quality education to the children. In Europe, some of the schools have advanced to degree level and enable the students to learn from different Islamic centers.

Sense of togetherness

There are many holidays and practices occurring in the Muslim calendar. The holy month of fasting makes the Muslims close since they have to share and work together the entire month. This makes it easier for them to interact, share ideas, and give assistance where necessary. This type of communion is rare to find where people do not meet on a regular basis.

Morals

Muslims are known to strictly follow the teachings and this makes them responsible and morally upright people in the community. The women dress well, cover their bodies, and do not engage in premarital sex. The same goes for men, and when they want to marry, they need to carefully follow the entire procedure according to the Islamic laws. These cuts off any irresponsible behavior and the younger generation hopefully grow up learning the cultures and the genuine Islamic way of life.

American society has gone through a lot of radical social changes ever since the attacks on the Twin Towers on 9/11. One of such changes is the nation’s increased interest in religion on the whole. The horrific act of violence on 9/11 turned the whole world upside down.

Socio- political framework of the world has undergone a series of drastic changes. As an immediate reaction the whole world went against Islam but with the appearance of later proof about the responsibility of the attacks, the attitude has slowly reversed. American public’s shift towards religion is inevitably connected to the attacks and the people who caused them.

The horror that followed the attacks, the suffering that people witnessed, was enough to shake them hard. The questions about the importance of human life were raised at every forum. Terrorists were condemned globally. The turning point in all the mayhem was when America attacked Afghanistan and later Iraq.

World media and humanitarian organizations showed footages exposing that America was inflicting the same terror as did the terrorists. Human life meant nothing in any case. Serious reconsideration of politics and national interests is underway now. Questioning the society and life led people to religion, not only in America but all over the world. Hence we see millions of converts in the post 9/11 world.

The emergence of industry in the eighteenth century shifted the balance of society to commercialism from agriculture. The basic values of love and care got exchanged with economic and financial well being. Tribal identity vanished and even identity meant well being and status based on economy. The First World War and also the World War Two brought a regime of human rights around and the political ways of the governments were challenged but religion still remained in the background. 9/11 has put religion back on the agenda.

An overwhelming number of Americans, converting to Islam and other religions (in lesser numbers) from atheism shows humans quest for finding the meaning for life. In the process of giving life a meaning, American population is evidently moving towards a better understanding of religion. Every other day scientists are discovering new facts about universes, new theories are born and old ones are rejected. With every new discovery people are becoming more aware of their Creator.

Now the scientists have found that everything is written and mentioned in Quran, the book of God. The people are witnessing lot of miracles happening and proving the worth of becoming a true believer. Islam basically is the only religion that has code of life, and is a total manual for humans to follow and be successful. Islam is the chosen religion of Allah Subhan wa Tallah and the time is not far away when there will be the rule of Islam.

The Islamic laws are strict and one needs to make sure they abide on all the rules if they follow this religion. It mainly relies on the teachings of the prophet Mohammed and the message is found through the Islamic holy book called the Quran. Here, the followers get the daily teachings as well as find the laws they need to follow. When it comes to matters of insurance, one need to be very careful since this is supposed take care of matters that arise.

When one dies, all the money and property they have is sent to the family members if they have not left a will. When they die and they have left any form of debt, the total amount is given to the people they owe. This is the major rule in Islam that no one should die, leaving any debts and they need to make sure they have cleared all debts when they are alive or when they die, their families will take care of clearing the debt. This follows the pattern in most of the Western world, whereby the survivors of the person assume responsibility for any remaining debts.

How does Islamic Takaful apply?

Long ago, when the Arabs were trading, they decided to combine the funds in a mutual fund for insurance reasons. This was to benefit the people, who had difficulties in clearing the debts and they use the chance from the fund. Every member had the chance to take part in this trust and when they have passed on, the family gets the benefit. When people are trading, they end up taking loans and this mutual trust helped the traders in acquisition of capital. Through this fund, they would get all the assistance they need but when they have debts, the cash is deducted from their fund.

The work Takaful means to compensate each other and this made it easier for the traders to work along well together. This cut down on the lending costs and it built trust among the traders. When one takes time to invest in the fund, it makes it easier for them to deal with the other traders who are in the same mutual trust. This lead to the term insurance and compensation and one discovered who was safe to deal with amongst the other traders.

The Takaful made the Islamic traders close since they had to meet occasionally when they were dealing with an issue of compensation. When it comes to matters of trade and interest in the Islamic society, they are very strict and take time to deliberate on the issue. This method led to the emergence of trade in the Arabic world since it was easy for them to access the funds.

Takaful and insurance

Currently, this method is still going on in the Islamic countries but it has two pillars, which include the Mudarabah and Waqalah. They revolve around profit sharing and loss sharing especially in these days, where most of the Islamic countries are tied down to terrorism.

A desperate father complained to me about his son’s extra curiculler activities. He said: “My son prays five times and has no bad habits that can worry me. But he returns home late and does not get involved in domestic responsiblities. He is in college but rarely studies . At home he is occupied on internet chatting with unknown friends…Then the father exclaimed : He is a monk of a different type. A corporate monk.”

This type of complain may be burning in the hearts of many fathers and wives of today. Grown up men remain obsessed with the internet , news papers, watching serials and sports. They are away from the family affairs. They don’t find even talking to the family as interesting as the world affairs they chase.

A Muslim is suppose to be actively participating in multiple things. He is a father, a husband and a son at home. He is helping his neighbour. He visits relatives instead of just messaging them, “May Allah give you a quick recovery”. He is with his children in their school. He is with his mother talking to her. Inspite of this, he finds time for dawah, deen and duniya. You will find him in the front rows in masjid and also a very good businessman. He earns money and also he spends money. He gets up for tahajjud and also goes along with his family for an outing.

A corporate monk will not stay in a monestary far away from the society, but he is there right in the middle of the busy city. He goes home and stays there but like a paying guest who just givs the rent of his staying and remains away from the houshold activities. He is a piece of furniture at home, not responding to any need or call of domestic help. The ancient monks kept away from wealth, but the corporate monks chase careers and wealth. He is spending most of his time in either travelling or gossiping with friends or entertainment. Reports say that an average person staying in a metro city, spends only a half hour with his family. Some dont even get time to talk to their family. When they leave their homes, their kids are sleeping. When they return their kids have gone to sleep.

When Islam permits a man to marry four women it means it also expects this man to run four families. It also expects this man to give time and attention towards all the four families. It means that a man lives in soceity and finds time for society. Being busy does not always means ” I dont have time ” but it can also mean ” I will not give priority to this person, or work or responsiblity…..

When Islam does not allow monastisism, it also encourages its followers to be active in social life. Recall the famous Hadith: “The best among you are the one who are best to their families.”

Apart from Ameenah, the Prophet’s (SAW) mother, the two other most influential women in his life are Khadijah bint Khuwaylid and Aishah bint Abu Bakr. The two of them played two very distinct, but equally important roles in the life of Muhammad and in the history of Islam. Khadijah was the very first wife of the Prophet (SAW) and the very first woman to become a Muslim. She was a solid supporter of the Prophet and Islam during the very early days, using her wealth and moral support to the advantage of Islam. The Prophet extolled her virtues even in the presence of his other wives after she was long gone.

Khadijah was a very good example of the true meaning of jihad. She spent her time, money and emotions to ensure that Islam got firmly rooted during its early beginnings. Even though she was older than the prophet was in age, she respected him, supported him and comforted him. Though, Allah would not have allowed the Prophet to fail, but Khadijah was a viable instrument to that success.

After the death of Khadijah, Muhammad (SAW) got married to Aisha based on recommendation from a number of companions, including willingness by Abu Bakr to marry his daughter to the Prophet. Aisha was married to the Prophet for about a decade before his death. During this period, she gained a lot of Islamic knowledge from the Prophet and was aware of the time some revelations came to him. After the Prophet’s death, she transmitted most of this knowledge stating some of the acceptable practices during times of disputes among the believers. Some scholars refer to her as the “Fountain of knowledge”, while other state that she is the “Mother of the Believers”.

Aisha was actively involved in the affairs and politics of Islam during the first three caliph reigns after the death of the prophet. Thus, she became more influential and contributed to the propagation of Islam. At some point during these years, she made some public speeches and even participated in battles. Definitely, she remained a shining light for the women of Islam even during the absence of the Prophet.

Now, let us track back to the main theme this article seeks to elaborate what Allah wants the women to be. Both of these two women have played prominent roles in Islam, Almighty Allah may wish you to act as Aisha and Khadijah in your current society today. The most important thing for you is to understand your role and use it to advance Islam. To be an Aisha, you will need to be purposeful, gain relevant knowledge, be outspoken and speak the truth at all times based on the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith. To be Khadijah you will have to be devoted, sacrificing and full of love. All these qualities will make you a true Muslima and Momina seeking pleasure of Allah.

Assalaamo alaikum,
Having beard and letting the beard grow is necessary or not, as it is also a sunnah. Is it a sin to shave the beard? and how much circumcision is necessary if somebody keeps himself clean and do ghusl properly and make istinzaa thoroughly clean? If having beard is a choice than having circumcision is choice or not?

Wa alaykumus Salaam
The keeping of the beard to the length of one fist is not a sunnah but rather it is waajib according to the hanafi math hab. To shorten it less than that is regarded as fisq and a person who does it will be deprived of the intercession of Rasulullaah Salallaahu alayhi wasallam. When the emmisaries of kisra came to Rasulullaah salallaahu alayhi wasallam with their big moustaches and shaved faces, Rasulillaah saaws refused to even look at them, though they were kuffar. How then of a muslim? Rasulullah salallaahu alayhi wasallam made it clear to them that” My lord has ordered me to lenghten my beard and trim my moustache”. Therefore to think the beard a choice is wrong.

As for circumcition it is a sunnah of all the ambiyaa A.S. and therefore regarded as a natural trait and an compulsory afct..

Yes the beard and circumcition are both the same but there is no choice for us in it.
Wallaahu a3lam.

The rules of husband and wife’s sexual relations in Islam are several and very simple. These explain bellow:

Lovemaking relations are for any pleasure of both husband and wife as well as for the procreation associated with children. Sexual intercourse isn’t limited to vaginal sexual penetration however, includes other sorts of sexual caressing for example fondling and kissing of numerous kinds.

Nothing at all should be done which is unpleasant and unhealthy for either person. Everyone has the duty or responsible to be sexually accessible to the other however, neither gets the right to dislike and injure each other.

With some exceptions, any couple could engage in any specific activities, which they enjoy in any manner plus in any position. Almighty Allah rewards these kinds of activities as definitely as he or she punishes sinful activities. Holy Qur’an says, “Females are your fields. Proceed then in to your fields like you please”.( in the 2:223)

It’s forbidden to get vaginal intercourse whilst a female is definitely menstruating (Holy Qur’an 2:222). In accordance to the Sunnah from the Prophet (Allah’s grace plus pbuh), a person and the menstruating wife could however provide one another pleasure as long as this woman vaginal is avoided.

You can find ahadith, which forbid anal intercourse. Additionally scholars commonly agreed that it’s not permissible. Nevertheless, in his tafsir (comments) Tabaari (third millennium A. H.) whilst forbidding sodomy, states that earlier experts had been divided about the question.

Holy Qur’an and Sunnah are usually silent regarding the various sorts that lovemaking relations might take. Most experts consider that it’s up to the wife and husband in love as well as mutual respect to make the decision how physically communicate their sex-related needs and desires.

What goes on inside bedroom, is a personal matter and shouldn’t be discussed or even revealed to another person until there is any necessity, for instance health or protection. Abu Hurairah narrates said that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned this regarding people who reveal along with discuss openly their own lovemaking practices: “Do you realize what those people who make this happen are like? Those people who make this happen are similar to a man and woman devil who meet one another on the road plus satisfy their desire whilst the people look them. “

Subsequently, in Islam husband and wife should select their sexual activities in accordance to the absolutely sure education of the Holy Qur’an. Additionally, in the light from the Sunnah as you are able to comprehend and appreciate this. Moreover, in mutual respect regarding one another with understanding that the only real witness to the appearance of their needs and desires will be Almighty Allah the Exalted, who’ll judge all of them according to his and her performance and his and her sincere intentions.

If we said that from the times we live in a war against Islam and Muslims, we would not be mistaken. But should to know that this war does not come in arms, so that is killing innocent Muslims. War is being fought, and some other assets, and seeks to prove that Islam is backward, that is not for advanced civilizations, etc. Of course, this”evidence” is not done with anything other than the lies of Islam and the Islamic religion law – Sharia. However, anyone who sincerely wants to know about Islam and Islamic religion law will be able to see very easily that there is nothing but a way to happiness and prosperity in both worlds. Islam and Islamic laws are codes of life, the teaching is based on ethics and it is the best prescribed way of leading life toward the right direction.

Earlier Islamic scholars who spoke about the Sharia and its intentions were reminded that the goal of implementation of the Sharia to benefit and eliminating damage, not only in the hereafter, but on this world too.

Its obligation of all Muslims to show the others the beauty of Islam, primarily through their behavior and actions. This is the very thing that would cause a large number of people entering the aegis of Islam since the time of revelation, until today, and the best proof of this we find if we look at the latest biography of the Holy Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Besides high obligation of Muslims and Muslim women is also that through the contact and conversation with the people speaks about the beauty of Islam, because we live in a time when Islam is trying to be presented in a different way. Anti Islam forces are focussing on presnting the twisted image of this divine religion and faith holders. Islam is nothing but love, harmony and peace. There is no hatred or prejudice has any place in the Islamic teachings. The divine religion focusses on the change of heart and the actions would follow. But, there are lot of misconceptions and wrong assumptions, acquisitions and blasphamous statements against Islam. That is why our great obligation is to explain to people the beauty of Islam, because knowledge of the beauty of Islam for Muslims increases their loyalty, love and devotion to religion. Those who were deviated from Islam they have a great opportunity to convince their veracity, and to accept to be saved in this world and the hereafter.

Islam, indeed, exudes the beauty (and wisdom) of each command, prohibition, regulation, quality, incentive…

Islam as a faith upholds morality and chastity to great extents. This is enforced in many aspects of their way of living including dressing. There are specific rules guiding the way both Muslim men and women should dress and carry themselves about. Cross dressing is not acceptable in the Islamic faith. Imitation of the opposite gender in terms of way of life and dressing is prohibited, that is, women are not allowed to wear men’s clothing and men too are not allowed to wear women’s clothing.

For men, they should fully cover their ‘awrah’ (from his navel down to the knees) and their clothing should be loose enough such that their ‘awrah is not described by it. Again the clothing should be thick enough not describe the skin color or the part to be covered (awrah). The clothes should not be designed in a way that it attracts attention. The clothes should not exude fame, vanity or pride and nor resemble that of women or non believers. Silk, gold or effimates should be avoided in men’s clothing too.

Women on their part should not wear any clothe that imitates the men’s clothing such as shirts and ties. Their clothing shouldn’t be transparent and tight fitting to the extent it outlines their body figures. Their clothes should aim at covering their entire bodies apart from the face and hands. Their head, bosom and neck should be covered with a khimar. A jilbab is prescribed for them to enshroud their entire body and cover any open spots. The above measures are prescribed so as to eliminate the attraction of men to several aspects the women body that evokes sexual emotions in men.

The Qur’an says (24) 30-31, “And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or the slaves whom their right hands possess, or male servants free of physical needs, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex; and that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments. And o you believers! Turn all toward Allah that you may attain bliss.”

The rules of dressing in Islamic faith for both women and men must always be adhered to during salah or Islamic prayers even if there is no member of the opposite faith present or when a Muslim is praying alone. Just like the women folk in Islamic faith are forbidden from wearing masculine clothes, the Muslim men are also forbidden by the Islamic dressing code from wearing feminine clothing.

Muslims have two great festival in a year , that is Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr after the month of Ramadan , That Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha considers as a gift of fasting whole month , Muslims Do that Because that is Allah’s for ummah of Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W .

History of the Eid al-Adha is different and really interesting; The Muslims celebrate that in the month of Zil-Hajj on 10th of Dhu’l-Hijja. Muslims for whole of the word celebrate this day in accomplishment and to commemorate the faith of Abraham. Allah gives name to Abraham in Quran khalil-ul-Allah, The friend of Allah.

Many years back Abraham was born in idol-worshipping tribe of Chaldea. At his childhood he was among the kuffar , But Allah had brightened his heart with the light of truth. That’s why He doesn’t adopt them. Clarity of his heart toward Allah revealed when he had dream that he was sacrificing his own son. Then for fulfilling the command of his Allah next day he sacrificed camels. And distributed it among the poor in the name of Allah, As Allah commanded him in dream. But on next day he dreamed the same, and he was bit worried because he had already fulfilled the command by Allah. But Next day he did the same he sacrificed camels again. And he prayed to Allah to accept that.

But one the third night he had same dream; he saw he was sacrificing his on son Ishmael. On that day instead of sacrificing camels he called to his beloved son and told him a whole story.

(The Quran: 37:102)

“O my son! I have seen thee being sacrificed in a dream; what sayest thou?”

His son had a strong believe on his father and because of that without any question he replied in yes. Yes father I am ready.

(The Quran: 37:102).

“O my father! Do what thou art commanded; if God please, thou wilt find me of the patient ones”

So Father and the son bother were get ready for accomplished the command by ALLAH.

They went far away from house on the hills side. Daemons tried hard to restrain him from this act, because that act was for ALLAH When he was going to cut the throat of his son, his eyes where close and he cut the throat but not of his son but a goat from heaven. They accomplished their mission to fulfill the command of ALLAH.

The Excellence of The Night Prayer (Qiyaam al-Layl):
Many Qur’aanic verses speak about the excellence of Qiyam and the merits of those people, who perform The Night Prayer (Qiyaam al-Layl) on a regular basis, for example, Allah describes the believers who deserve Jannah saying: “They (the believers) forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope; and they spend out of what We have bestowed on them.” [Soorah as-Sajdah (32): 16] “They (the pious) used to sleep but little at night.” [Soorah ath-Thariyat (51): 17] Also, numerous Ahadeeth add to this subject, narrated Abu Hurayrah (radhi allahu anhu): “The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “The best prayer after those prescribed is (the prayer performed) in the depth of night.” [Saheeh Muslim and Musnad Ahmad]

He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) also said: “The most beloved prayer to Allah was of Dawud (alaihi as-salaam). He slept one half of the night, got up (and prayed) for one third, and then slept (the remaining) one sixth.”[Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

Protection from Shaitaan: Abu Hurayrah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “When one of you goes to sleep, Shaitaan ties three knots over the rear of his head, blowing into each knot, ‘You have a long night, so sleep on.” If he wakes up and mentions Allah, one knot loosens. If he makes wudhu (ablution for prayer), another knot loosens and if he prays, the third knot loosens and he becomes lively and good-natured; otherwise he gets up ill-natured and lazy.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

Acceptance of Supplication: Abu Hurayrah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Our Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven, when only one third of the night has remained. He says: “Who will invoke Me, so that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim] In another report, he adds: “Then Allah extends His Hand and says: “Who wants to invest (good deeds) with the One who is not wasteful or unjust?” He continues to say this until the dawn arrives.” [Saheeh Muslim]

Jabir (radhi allahu anhu) reported, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) saying: “There is an hour of the night which no Muslim person encounters and asks for a good thing for this life or the Hereafter, but Allah grants it to him. This happens every night.” [Saheeh Muslim]

Abu Umamah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) was once asked: “When are the supplications most acceptable?” He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) replied: “In the last depth of the night and at the end of the prescribed prayers.” [(hasan) by Shaikh al-Albanee (at-Tirmidhee)]

Muadh bin Jabal (radhi allahu anhu) reported that Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Whenever a Muslim goes to bed in a pure state (with wudhu), falls asleep while mentioning Allah and then wakes up during the night and asks Allah for anything good, He grants it to him.”[(saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Musnad Ahmad and at-Tirmidhee)]

Closeness to Allah: Amr bin Abash (radhi allahu anhu) reported that Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “The closest that a servant is to his Lord, is in the last part of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah at that hour then do so.” [(saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee(at-Tirmidhee)]

Mercy from Allah: Abu Hurayrah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “May Allah have mercy on a man who wakes up at night, prays and wakes his wife to pray; and if she refuses, he sprinkles water on her face. And may Allah have mercy on a woman who wakes up at night, prays, and wakes her husband to pray and if he refuses, she sprinkles water on his face.”[(hasan) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Abu Dawood)]

Constant deeds guarantee ample reward: Aa’ishah (radhi allahu anha) said: “Do not ever stop praying Qiyam. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) never ceased praying it. When he was sick or weak, he prayed sitting.” [(saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Abu Dawood)]

She also reported the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) saying:“The most beloved deeds to Allah are the most constant, even if they were little.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

The Excellence of Qiyam in Ramadaan: Many Ahaadeeth describe the excellence of Qiyam particularly in Ramadaan, some of them are:

Forgiveness of sins: Abu Hurayrah (radhi allahu anhu) reported: “Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) encouraged the people, without making it an absolute command, to perform Qiyam during Ramadaan. He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) used to say: “Whoever stands (in Qiyam) in Ramadaan out of faith and expectation (of Allah’s Reward), all his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

Among the Most Righteous: Amr bin Murrah al-Juhani (radhi allahu anhu) said: “A man from the tribe of Quraysh asked the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam): “O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)! What if I testified that there is no (true) god except Allah and that you are Allah’s Messenger, prayed the five prayers, fasted the month, stood for Qiyam in Ramadaan and paid Zakaah?” The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) replied: “Anyone dying like this will be among the siddiqun (the highly virtuous) and the shuhadah (martyrs).” [(saheeh) Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Hibban]

Getting up for Qiyam al-Layl: Many Ahadeeth report the actions of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) when he got up at night. Some of them are:

Siwaak and Wudhu: As soon as the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) got up for Qiyam al-Layl, he would brush his teeth with a siwaak and perform wudhu, he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “When one of you gets up to pray at night, let him use a siwaak (to clean his teeth), because when he recites during the prayer, the angel puts his mouth over his, so that nothing leaves his mouth but will enter into the angel’s mouth.”[(saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee (al-Bayhaqee and others)]

Mentioning Allah: Ubadah bin as-Samit (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Whoever wakes up at night and says: ‘La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul mulku wa-lahul-hamdu wa-huwa ala kulli shay’in qadir. Wa-subhan allahi wal-hamdu lillahi wa-la ilaha ilallallahu wallahu akbaru, wa-la hawla wa-la quwwata illa billah’ [DownLoad as-Sunnah Bimonthly Islamic Newsletter (Ramadaan Issue) to view the complete Arabic Text]

“There is no (true) god except Allah Alone, without any partners. To Him belongs the sovereignty; to Him belongs all praise. He is capable of everything. Exalted is Allah; Allah is the Greatest, there is no power or might except from Allah.” and then says: “Rabb igfir li” – “My Lord! Forgive me.” Anyone who says this and supplicates, he will be answered, and if he makes wudhu and prays, his prayer will be accepted.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee]

Rabi’ah bin Ka’ab al-Aslami (radhi allahu anhu) reported: “I used to sleep by the house of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam). When he got up at night (to pray), I would hear him repeat for a long time:

“Subhana rabbil-alamin” – “Exalted is the Lord of the creation.”

Then he would repeat for a long time:

“Subhan Allahi wa bi-hamdih” – “Exalted is Allah, all praise belongs to Him.” [(Saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee ( at-Tirmidhee)]

Raising one’s voice moderately: One may pray Qiyam silently or aloud, but it is best to raise one’s voice moderately. Abu Qatadah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that one night the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) saw Abu Bakr (radhi allahu anhu) praying with a low voice. He then saw Umar (radhi allahu anhu) praying with a loud voice. Afterwards, he said to Abu Bakr (radhi allahu anhu): “O Abu Bakr! I passed by you while you prayed and you were lowering your voice.” He replied: “I have been heard by Him whom I was addressing, O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)!” Then the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “O Umar! I passed by you while you prayed, and you were raising your voice.” He replied: “O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)! Thereby I wake the sleepy and drive the Shaytaan away.” So, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “O Abu Bakr, raise your voice a little. And you Umar, lower your voice a little.” [(saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Abu Dawood and at-Tirmidhee)]

Ibn Abbas (radhi allahu anhu) reported: “The Prophet’s (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) recitation (in Qiyaam) was such that one would hear him from the outer room while he is inside (in the bedroom).”[(hasan) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Abu Dawood)]

Praying Qiyam al-Layl in the Jamaah:
It is a Sunnah to pray the Qiyam al-Layl of Ramadaan with the Jamaah (congregation); and this is better than praying it individually. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) himself established the practice of praying Qiyam al-Layl in Jamaah, approved of it from the Sahabah (radhi allahu anhu) and greatly emphasized its merits.

Aa’ishah (radhi allahu anha) reported: “The people used to pray during the night of Ramadaan in the Prophet’s Mosque in separate groups. A man who knew some Qur’aan would lead five or six people in Jamaah. On one such night, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) instructed me to lay down a mat for him (in the Masjid) by the door of my apartment and I did so. After praying Isha, Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) went to that mat, all those who were in the Masjid gathered behind him; and he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) led them in the prayer for a long portion of the night; then he departed and entered (my apartment), leaving the mat where it was.

In the morning, the people described that Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) led some men in prayer on the previous night. So that night, more people gathered until the Masjid was full. Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) went out the second night and prayed; and they followed him in the prayer.

The next morning people talked about it and on the third night the number of people increased in the Masjid. Again the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) went out and they followed him in prayer.

On the fourth night, the Masjid was overrun with people. Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) prayed Isha with them and went inside his house, but the people stayed, so Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) asked me:“What do they want Aa’ishah?” I said: “O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)! The people have gathered to follow you (in the prayer).” He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Fold away your mat.”, which I did. He (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) was aware of the people waiting for him that night; some men even called out, ‘The Prayer.’

In the morning, Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) went out for the Fajr prayer and after he finished his Salaat he turned to the people, said the Shahadah and stated: “O people, by Allah all praise is due to Him, I was not unaware of your presence last night, but I only feared that the night prayer (Qiyam) would become an obligation for you, which you would be incapable of fulfilling. So commit only to the deed you would be capable of performing, because Allah does not tire (from yours deeds) until you tire.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee, Saheeh Muslim, Abu Dawood, an-Nisa'ee, Musnad Ahmad and others]

Besides praying Qiyam al-Layl in the Jamaah himself, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) greatly encouraged this practice. Once, after leading the people in the Qiyaam prayer of Ramadaan, when he was leaving and people requested him to continue the prayer for the other part of the night, he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Whoever stands in prayer with the Imaam until he (the Imaam) concludes the prayer, it is recorded for him that he prayed the whole night.” [(saheeh) Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhee, al-Bayhaqee]

His statement: “Whoever stands in prayer with the Imaam…” clearly indicates the excellence of Qiyam al-Layl behind the Imaam. Thus, even though delaying Qiyam carries special merits, praying Qiyamal-Layl with the Jamaah, early in the night is better than praying it alone, late in the night. This is why Umar (radhi allahu anhu), revived this Sunnah in his Khilafah and the Muslims continue it till now.

Wrong Conclusions from Umar’s (radhi allahu anhu) action:
Many people use this act (reviving the sunnah of The Night Prayer (Qiyaam al-Layl) in Jamaah) of Umar (radhi allahu anhu) as basis for misconceptions like: “Praying Qiyaam in Jamaah is a bidah which was not known during the time of Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) – AND – Some Bidah’s (Innovations) are praiseworthy; and general statements by the Prophet such as: “Every bidah is an act of misguidance” should be restricted by the statement of Umar: “ This is indeed a good matter.”

The error of the former misconception is apparent from the preceding hadeeth of Aa’ishah (radhi allahu anha), which clearly indicates that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) himself prayed the Qiyam with the people in the Jamaah for three consecutive nights in Ramadaan; and he only stopped for fear that it would become an obligation for his Ummah!!

The latter argument of restricting the Hadeeth of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) to the statement of Umar (radhi allahu anhu) is also invalid.

In his statement, Umar (radhi allahu anhu) did not intend the Shariah meaning of Bidah (i.e. ‘to innovate something new in the religion of Islam without precedence’) because he did not innovate the practice of Qiyam al-Layl in Jamaah, rather it was an established practice of Allah’s Messenger. He merely revived a great Sunnah of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam). Umar only meant Bidah according to its linguistic meaning, which is “something new which was not commonly known prior to its initiation.” The Night Prayer (Qiyaam al-Layl) behind one Imaam was certainly not a common practice during the Khilafah of Abu Bakr (radhi allahu anhu) and a portion of Umar’s (radhi allahu anhu). With this understanding it is a new matter, but since it is in accordance with the Prophet’s action, it is a Sunnah and not a Bidah. Describing it as good is only because of this reason and this is the understanding of the great scholars in explaining the statement of Umar (radhi allahu anhu).

For example, Ibn Hajr al-Haythami said: “Driving the Jews and Christians out of the Arabian peninsula, and fighting the Turks, are not Bidahs, because these were done by the command of Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam), even though they were not done during his lifetime. And in the saying of Umar regarding The Night Prayer (Qiyaam al-Layl): “This is indeed a good Bidah” he meant the linguistic meaning of Bidah”, which is to do something which was not done, it is similar to the saying of Allah: “I did not bring something unprecedented (bidah) among the messengers.” [Soorah Ahqaf (46): 9]

This (Umar’s action) does not indicate a Bidah in the Shari’ah sense, because such a Bidah would be an act of misguidance, as was indicated by the Messenger of Allh (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)… Just look at the Sahabah (radhi allahu anhu) and those who followed them in the good way, they objected calling the adhan (call for prayers) other than the five daily prayers, such as Eid prayer, even though no specific prohibition is found in this regard…. Furthermore, there are things which the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) avoided despite the need and ability to do them during his lifetime. Avoiding such things is a Sunnah and performing them is a blameworthy innovation. By our saying: “Despite the need and ability to do them”, we exclude driving out the Jews and other things which he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) did not do because of reasons that prevented him from doing them.

Similarly, there was a need to pray Qiyam al-Layl in Jamaah, but there was also a reason which prevented the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) from continuing to pray it in Jamaah.” [Al-Ibda fi Madarr il-Ibtida] Abd ul-Wahhab as-Subki said: “Ibn Abd ul-Barr said: “Umar did not legislate except what Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) legislated and what he (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) loved and accepted. Nothing prevented him (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) from continuing (with Qiyam al-Layl in Jamaah) except fearing that it would become an obligation for his Ummah, because he was kind and merciful towards the believers. Umar (radhi allahu anhu) learned from Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) and understood that one cannot add to the obligations or take away from them after his (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) death. He therefore established The Night Prayer (Qiyaam al-Layl) for the people in Jamaah, revived it, and commanded it…” [Ishraq ul-Masabih fi salat fi Taraweeh (1: 168)]

Women joining the Jamaah: Women are permitted to attend Qiyam al-Layl, as is indicated in the Hadeeth of Abu Dharr (radhi allahu anhu), he said: “He (the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam)) gathered his family, his wives and the people. He led us in the prayer (for a long time in qiyam of Ramadaan)…” [(saheeh) Abu Dawood, at-Tirmidhee and others] Manner of Qiyam al-Layl

The Time of Qiyam al-Layl: The time of Qiyam al-Layl starts after the Isha prayer up to the Fajr prayer. Abu Basrah (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Indeed Allah added a prayer for you, it is Witr (as explained earlier, Witr is one of the names for Qiyam al-Layl), so pray it between Isha and Fajr.” [(Saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee in as-Saheehah (108)]

However, if one prays alone he should try to pray it in the later part of the night, because that is better than the earlier part, as the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Whoever fears that he will not wake up in the later part of the night, then let him perform Witr in the first part of it and whoever expects to wake up in the later part of the night, let him pray it then. Indeed, the prayer of the night is witnessed (by the angels), and that is better.” [(Saheeh) Abd ur-Razzaq]

Recitation during Qiyam al-Layl: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) did not fix the length of recitation for Qiyam. His recitations varied in length; it was sometimes short, more often long, and extremely long on some occasions. Abdullah bin Amr (radhi allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “Whoever prays Qiyam reciting ten verses, he will not be recorded among the negligent. Whoever prays Qiyam reciting one hundred verses, he will be recorded among the devout and whoever prays Qiyam reciting one thousand verses, he will be recorded among those with a multitude of good deeds.” [(Hasan) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Abu Dawood)]

The longer the Qiyam, the better. Thus, when one prays alone, he is encouraged to make his recitation as long as possible. Supplication: Various supplications are reported from the Messenger of Allah r for the Qiyam prayer. In particular, there are some supplications, which he would say at the beginning of the Qiyam, before reciting the Qur’aan.

It is recommended to learn one of these, which would allow practicing the Sunnah in a better way. Following are three narrations:

1 - “O Allah! All praise belongs to You; You are the Custodian of the Heavens and Earth and all that is therein. And all praise belongs to You; You are the lighter of the Heavens and the Earth and all that is therein. And all praise belongs to You; You are the Sovereign of the Heavens and the Earth and all that is therein. And all praise belongs to You; You are the Truth; Your Promise is the truth; meeting Your (in the Hereafter) is true; Your Speech is true; Jannah is true; the Fire is true; the Prophets are true; Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) is true; and the Hour (of Doom) is true. O Allah! I submit myself to You, believe in You, rely on You, turn to You, fight for You, and invoke You. So forgive what I have done in the past or will do in the future, what I hide or declare, and what you know better than me (of what I did). You are the One, Who brings (some people) forward, and moves back (the others). There is no (true) god except You, and there is no (god) than you.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim] [DownLoad as-Sunnah Bimonthly Islamic Newsletter (Ramadaan Issue) to view the complete Arabic Text]

2 - “O Allah, Lord of Jibreel, Mika’il, Israfil, Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, Knower of the hidden and the witnessed things, You will judge among your slaves about that wherein they used to differ. Guide me to the truth in matters of difference, with Your Permission, You guide whomever You will, to the straight path.” [Saheeh Muslim][DownLoad as-Sunnah Bimonthly Islamic Newsletter (Ramadaan Issue) to view the complete Arabic Text]

3 - “Exalted are You, my Lord, all praise belongs to You, hollowed is Your Name; great is Your Honor; and there is no (true) deity but You. There is no (true) god except Allah. (three times) Allah is the Greatest, He is great indeed (three times). I seek refuge with Allah, the All-Hearing, All-Knowing, from the outcast Shaytaan, from his spurring, blowing, and breathing.” [(Saheeh) by Shaikh al-Albanee (Abu Dawood and at-Tirmidhee)] [DownLoad as-Sunnah Bimonthly Islamic Newsletter (Ramadaan Issue)

Management is defined as the process of integrating resources and tasks towards the achievement of stated organizational goals. Time is one of these important resources that need proper management. Other resources may include human resource, machinery, etc. management can also be defined as the process of getting things done effectively and efficiently through and with other people. The term process used means a series of actions or a method of operation to achieve the stated goals. Management is a continuous process and many but inter-related activities are performed by the managers to achieve the stated goals.

Muslim managers like other managers lead organizations and the concept of time management is very important to them for their success in such institutions. An organization is usually defined as a group of people with formally assigned roles, working together to achieve stated goals. A manager is a person who organizes, leads and controls and the leads the work of others to achieve the organizational goals.

The Muslim managers have a responsibility to ensure efficiency in using time by the workers in a cost saving way and efficiency in making the right decisions and successful implementation of the same in view of time management. Efficiency in the use of time is viewed in light of the ability to make the best use of the available time in the process of achieving the organizational goals. This can be achieved through proper leadership and directives on the tasks and sub-tasks to accomplished by the workers in the firm.

A Muslim manager must equally have the general skills for proper management to ensure that the employees manage time well. He has to seek internal and external information about issues that can improve on the time management which finally have a bearing on the achievement of the organizational goals. He also has to be good at transmitting information internally that is obtained from either internal or external sources on ways of improving on the management of time. He should also seek the public opinion on some of the best ways of management of time. He also has the obligation to ensure that enough resources are allocated to activities and accessories that can help effect the management of time in the organization to ensure easier achievement of the organizational goals.

Time wasters which are a common problem to most of the organizations should be avoided at all costs. Any unsuitable utilization of time should be avoided and other time wasters ignored. The managers can equally control the time wasters by: defining the objectives and defining tasks, arranging priorities, organizing the office, controlling unnecessary interruptions and efforts and application of the effective skills of communication. Finally the Muslim managers have a great responsibility in ensuring that there is proper management in the utilisation of time in their organizations to ensure achievement of the organizational goals since this is a command from the most high God himself as spelt in the holy Quraan.

The concept of time management is highlighted by the holy Quraan in several verses. There is need to examine the subject of time management and the Islamic view point of the same for the good of Muslim faithful and the world at large. Success of any manager relies on how he uses time. Optimizing the use of time is usually said to determine the difference between success and failure. It is always acknowledged that those who care about the total time they have make great achievements in their lives but those who don’t always believe that the time they have is too little.

For the sake of time of management the following times occur in our day to day lives: creative time ( time spent on the process of planning, analysis and thinking for the future), preparatory time (this is the time for preparation that precedes the actual start of the work), productive time (this is the actual time spent in the actual execution of the tasks planned at the preparatory and creative stages) and the overhead time which is the time spent by the managers on the secondary activities touching on the future and success of the organization and its relationship with the environment and the society at large. An effective manager of time is one who knows how to utilize the above times effectively and efficiently as brought out in the holy Quraan.

The Quraan considers time as a basic blessing from God and should therefore be managed well. It describes time as the span of life, the extent of man’s existence and the platform of his usefulness, survival and gain. This affirms the fact a man who doesn’t manage his time is one that has no proper meaning to live.

Another critical concept of time in the Muslim faith is that the acts of worship ar allocated specific time and should be well managed. This aspect brings out the need for proper time management in Islam the Quraanic view of the same. The five daily prayers are very important and time for such should be well observed. The prayers always enable Muslim faithful to reinforce their bonds with the most high God daily. Proper management of such time is therefore very important in an Islamic perspective.

The observation of fasting during the holy month of Ramadhan is an activity that requires proper time management. The beginning and end of that event is usually gauged by observing the size of the resent of the moon. The time is very key in the Islam calendar and must be well observed in line with the Islamic perspective. Other activities such as going on pilgrimage to Mecca are equally important times to properly observe.

Management of all these times properly makes a Muslim life more fruitful and productive. There is therefore for Muslims all over the world to examine the need for proper time and the Islamic perspective of the same from the Quraan.

It is always said that time is money and life has only one chance. These sayings imply that as human beings we have no choice but to organise ourselves and manage the little time we have properly for our own good. This is equally atested to in the holy book Quraan. The fact that life has only one chance can be expounded by ones death. If someone dies he would not get another chance to live. The Surah Ambiya Chapter 21 which is one of the Quraanic verses that talk about the Islamic view of time management points out this. This verse reminds mankind that this life is only one opportunity.

The current life expectancy of any man born day is very short and therefore there are a myriad of deadlines top beat by this man. We can live as those who live in the Quraanic times such as Nuh did (950yars). The average life of the current generation man is 60 years. Although the life span is very short, the current man has a vast opportunity to make the best. This purely is dependent on several factors such as what one does and how he does it and what he lives behind.

Since the life span is very short, things that we can do should not be left undone. Activities such as environmental conservation to enhance sustainable development of our water resources, assisting the needy in the society, worshipping Allah among others are basic things that we can do. Things that we also believe that are very difficult to achieve should not be left unattempted since we may eventually have a break through trials. It is possible to obtain a permanent cure for HIV AIDS just like vaccines for diseases such as small pox were found through trials.

If thorough mathematical evaluation is done it is clear that we live very few years of the 60 years. If one subtracts 15years of boyhood and 15 years of sleeping (assuming one sleeps 8 hours a day), 2.5 years spent in watching the TV (assuming one takes approximately 2.hours on the TV). This would mean that we would have 27.5 years and this call for proper planning of how to manage this time.

Time wastage should be minimized at all cost. There is need to make a list of activities that waste your time and it is also prudent to make a list of the activities that remain undone and have the potential to become a problem if they are not given immediate attention. This is spelt out in Verse 59:18 of the Quraan.

In line with Islamic teachings there is needed to engage in productive actions. Some of the actions include performance of Isha and Fajr salaah in the congregation and reception of the award of praying the whole night, doing ibadaah in the last odd nights of Ramadhan and eventual earning or reward for praying for 1000 months and keeping aside 1 hour daily for self development among others.

It is necessary to engage in productive Islamic activities such as: teaching a new believer any aspect of Islam, talking to a non-believer on Islam as a good religion, being a volunteer in social activities to assist people in the society, intercession for good cause and have a good share in it among others. These are very important for proper time management. The need to properly manage the little time available is emphasized in the Quraan and is therefore a call to all mankind across the globe as depicted in the holy Quraan.

Emotional disorders are common medical complication in this century. The current man is really under pressure from different factors is largely affected emotionally. Depression is very common and leads to very complicated health ailments. There is much pressure from the workplaces, academic work, and family, among others. Problems of high blood pressure are very common globally. There is need that preventive measures are prescribed for this. Emotional disorders are the disturbances of the behavior and results in disturbance of a person’s function in the society. It is evident that human life is affected by biological, social and psychological factors. These factors equally have a great bearing on the human behavior.

Religion plays a very special role in the satisfaction of our physical and spiritual needs. Islam as a religion has teachings on the code of behavior and gives a meaning for the existence for each and every one of us. It is very unfortunate that in the modern society there is a great decline in the moral standards. There are numerous cases of divorce, drugs and substance abuse, excessive indulgence in sexual activities and other unethical behaviors. These behaviors have led to conflicts, loneliness, depression and other psychological signs. Even though there is a great advancement in sciences of behavior, there is very limited progress in obtaining solutions to the psychiatric problems.

Psychotherapy is very important in seeking a lasting solution to these problems. It is clearly known to be a form of education, which directs the patient to recognize his conduct and conform to the required standards. It helps to encourage a person with a deviant behavior to change and conform to the good ethics expected of him in the society. In the Quraan and Hadith the best principles of change of behavior are illustrated. The Muslim physicians and mental health professionals need to incorporate the Islamic values and ethics in seeking ways of treating such complications. This is indicated in Sura 41 verse 44 of the Al-Quraan.

Islam as a religion in satisfying the physical and the spiritual needs of the believers. It teaches on the ways to behave and the conservation of social values and expounds on the reason for their existence. This enables people adapt to stressful events that may lead to emotional disorders.

The family is a very important institution in shaping the life of any person. The family is therefore very important as an institution in seeking lasting solution to the problems of emotional disorders. The family is the first institution that a child interacts with upon birth. That immediate environment is very important in shaping the behavior of that child. There is therefore need to cultivate good family values in order to curb the above problems.

In conclusion, the Islamic teachings are very vital in ensuring that the problems associated with emotional disorders are controlled once and for all.

Islam just like any other religion has its own teachings on the benefits of the purification of the hart and the soul. This act forms the major portion of building the Muslim personality. It is referred to as al Tazkiyah in the Quraan. Some of the virtues associated with it are very keys in the Islamic faith and include adorning and practicing the 99 attributes of Allah, applying the virtues of compassion and mercy, holding one’s brother and sister’s well being higher than one’s self, generosity, trustworthiness and piousness. The most high God had a great regard for this practice and this is illustrated by examples in the Quraan

This aspect is one of the spiritual goals of the Islamic faith and is very fundamental for all the Muslims across the globe. This is must be a practice in a Muslim’s daily living. Since the aspect is very critical to Allah, a believer must act intelligently to acquire it by staying very closely to Allah. This can be achieved by seeking closeness to Allah, reading and comprehending clearly of the words from the Quraan. It is very clear from Quraan that those who want love from Allah must practice this aspect. This is brought out in the verses 1-10 of Surah al Shams (91).

Thikru Allah i.e. the remembrance of Allah is one of the most important components of the aspect. This term is always used to reflect a collection of ways in which any Muslim remembers, resides and attains being close to Allah in his heart and him. The term has to do with more than just recollection of something in memory but it is a training institution that aids develop people Muslims with enlightened hearts, fully occupied with Allah and his attributes. This is brought out in verse 13:27-28 of the holy Quraan. A Muslim can find it easy to accomplish a change in the heart by practicing Thinkr Allah. The simplest way to achieve this is fast is to start out by attaching your heart to him and then connecting it to his guidance. Once the heart is cleansed all the other parts of the body become clean and pure.

The 99 attributes largely mentioned in the Quraan are heaven of spiritual enrichments. Each attribute is an institution that gives a clear communication about Allah. It is always said that a true believer loves Allah most. Having good knowledge in Allah makes him to delink himself totally from evil things. This practice is as a result of having a deep knowledge of Allah.

Thinkr uses the symbols of the most high God and his creations as a way of recollection and contemplation. These are signs that are well illustrated in the Quraan. It is fact that about 75 verses in the Quraan speaks about this fundamental teaching in Islamic religion. The verses are said to highlight on the teaching in a number of ways.

In conclusion it is very important for every Muslim believer to practice purification of the heart and soul as this will enhance their closeness to Allah and enable them do good deeds all the time as illustrated in the Quraan.

First it is clear that science without religion is lame. This were the words of the famous physicist and Nobel Prize winner; Albert Einstein. It is therefore prudent to analyze the Quraan to find out whether it is compatible or incompatible to modern science. The Quraan is a book with several signs (more than 6000) of which more than a thousand deals with science.

Astronomy is widely covered by the Quran. Firstly, the creation of the universe by the “Big Bang “theory is captured in Al-Quran 21:30. The Big Bang theory is widely explained by the astrophysicists and supported by observational and data from experiments gathered by the astronomers and astrophysicists for several decades. There is a great congruence between the Quraanic verse and the Big Bang theory since the Quraan was a book written about 1400 years ago in the deserts of Arabia
Al-Quraan 41:11 also explains the formation of galaxies from a celestial matter that was in form of a gas. This implies huge gaseous matter were present prior to the formation of the galaxies. The word smoke is used in the Quraan to replace smoke.

The spherical shape of the earth is widely captured in the verse 31:29. From history it is documented that Sir Francis Drake was the first person who discovered that the earth is spherical when he did sail around it in 1597. The Quraan verse confirms this by quoting that God merges night into daylight and daylight into night. This brings out the aspect of the rotation of the earth which is a confirmation of the fact that the earth is a spherical body. This is also confirmed in verse 39:5 of the Al-Quraan. In verse 79:30 the Al-Quraan confirms that the earth was made in an egg-shape implying that it is spherical which a true confirmation of the modern scientific facts is.
The fact that the light of the moon is a reflected light is also captured in the verse 25:61 of the Al-Quraan. Science stated that the moonlight is reflected light. This is affirmed in Quraan where the constellations in the skies are mentioned alongside a lamp and a moon giving light. The fact was mentioned 1400 years ago: a proof of compatibility of the book and modern scientific facts. This is also brought out in the verse 71:15-16.

The verse 21:33 proves the fact that the earth and other bodies rotate around the sun in their own orbits as confirmed by the modern science. The rotation of the sun around its own axis is equally brought out. The sun usually have a circular motion once every 25 days that is to say the sun takes about 25 days to move around its own axis. The verse 36:40 also confirms this fact. The verse mentions the existence of the individual orbits of the sun and the moon and their motion within the space.
The Quraan also mentions facts captured in modern science in physics such as the existence of subatomic particles. In Geography aspects such as the water cycle which is usually explained in modern physics is explained. The fact that wind impregnates clouds is also highlighted in Quraan.

Geological facts such as mountains are fixed are also brought out in the book. Facts such as existence of barriers between sweet and salt waters and the existence of darkness in the depths of the depths of the ocean are some of the Oceanological facts highlighted in the Quraan. The book also covers other areas of modern science such as medicine, biology, zoology, botany, physiology, embryology among others and shows a highly degree of compatibility of the facts highlighted with the various disciplines of modern science.

Most of the verses on the subject had not been expounded on. In the recent past a lot of emphasis has been put to appreciate the verses fully. Due to lack of proper scientific awareness, improper translations & commentaries it had been extremely difficult to interprate the verses. The urge to get information on embryology began long ago during the times of prophet Muhammad when questions were asked extensively on the verses relating to human production and embryology. The Hadith literature is used as the basis of answers of the Apostle.

Different Islamic scholars have done several translations of some of the verses in the Quraan touching on this subject matter. Sheikh Abdul Majid Zendani, a great professor of Islamic studies in one of the leading universities in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) is one of such scholars. He translated the statement from Sura 39:6.

Information on illustration of foetus development in the womb is equally documented to have been drawn by Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th Century. It is also documented that Galen described the placenta and the development of foetus in one of his books called On the Formation of the Foetus. This was done far much earlier in the 2th century AD.

It is also well recorded in history that doctors in the 7th century A.D. knew very well that the foetus developed in the womb. Earlier explanations of the same had been provided by Aristotle in the 4th century B.C. Details into the development of the foetus was given far much later in the 15th century from the records available. However, more was discovered upon the discovery of the microscope in the 17th century by Leeuwenhoek. This made it easier to provide clear descriptions on the early stages of development of the foetus. Final descriptive explanations came in 1941 when Streeter developed the first system of staging. The most comprehensive explanation was given by O’Rahilly in 1972: he described the three stages of human development as to be confined to the anterior abdominal wall, uterine wall and then the amniochorionic membrane.

Sura 23:13 is equally a verse on the human development and embryology. It focuses on the zygote which later splits to form a blastocyst which then implanted in the uterus where it develops into a human being. Sura 23:14 is equally interpreted and is another important verse on the subject matter. It describes the human embryo from the days 7-24 when it usually clings to the endometrium of the uterus. The Sura describes in details the development of the foetus as compared to the verses.

Sura 32:9 describes the development the human senses. It describes the development in a certain order i.e. the appearance of the appearance of the primordial of the internal ears first followed by the eyes and lastly the brain differentiates.

Sura 22:5 illustrates that the embryo is mainly composed of differentiated and undifferentiated tissues. The tissues described are the mesechyme and the cartilage bones. The mesechyme usually differentiates later into the muscles and ligaments. The verse also acknowledges the fact that God determines which embryo would stay in the uterus till full term and whether it will be a boy or a girl.

The science of modern embryology has facilitated to a great extent the understanding of the verses in the Quraan on embryology and human development. The science has afforded many followers of prophet Muhammad a new understanding of the subject matter.

Present day Muslim women are now becoming more aware of their moral values and religious teachings, thus turning themselves towards their religion. This has resulted in numerous women in covering themselves up. This dress code depicts the modesty and simplicity every Muslim woman possesses. This dress code is known as the hijab, which implies that all Muslim women cover themselves up while going out. And they should cover themselves in such a manner that only their face and hands are visible. Rest of the body should be fully covered.

As numerous women have turned towards covering themselves, it is becoming more of a trend now. It has considerably gained popularity amongst the Muslim women. Therefore, this dress is now seen in many styles, colors and designs. One thing we need to keep in mind is hijab is not only a head scarf or head gear to simply hide your hair and neck. Though these two parts are also to be covered when you wear this dress, but it is more of a complete body dress which allows you to cover up fully.

As more women now cover themselves, you can find a verity of designs and styles. Many hijabs have embroidery on them. They are adorned with beads, embroidery, lining of different colors, outlines and many more. But if you are in search for the more traditional ones, then you can buy those in plains. Same way, the more traditional colors included blacks and browns. But today, it’s not the same. You will find a verity of colors to choose from, so many colors that you will be dazzled.

There are numerous styles now available, and in different clothing material. Mostly it is found in silk clothing. All these designs not only complement your looks, but also enhance your entire outlook and add an element of elegance to your personality. From the very traditional ones for old ladies to the very classy and trendy ones for the young college or office-going girls, you will find an unlimited verity. So there’s no need for you to compromise with fashion because of your dress code that your religion asks you to wear. You can bring some style to your new outlook with the many designs that are now available.

Due to the increased demand in hijabs, many fashion designers have now responded to it by coming up with designs that not only are stylish, yet they complement the Islamic dress codes. Not only that, they are now made with material to complement different parts of the world and the climate of that particular region or place. As Muslim dressing is largely influenced by their surrounding environment, climate, culture, traditions and values. So as to show the true identity the Muslims of this world hold.

Islam is religion that is sent for the humanity to follow till the world ends. The religious Book of Holy Quran has guidance for every aspect of life. Our last Prophet (PBUH) has set practical example of a life that should be lead by the true Muslim. The Muslims have ruled the world when they follow the Islamic laws strictly but as they follow modern trends and become ease loving they turn into third world countries.

Modernization in the field of education and technology is well appreciated with reference to Islam. But if we take today’s modernization vulgarity is at its peak in its name. Being modern the ladies have started wearing sleeveless dresses without dupattas. Islam preaches to cover the beauties and considered it loyalty towards their husbands. Whole body should be completely covered that the Muslim women should not look like the exposing stuff of enjoyment. Thus, Islamic values are left behind to be trendy. Muslims are too busy to perform prayers yet not busy to gossip on the mobiles, chat on internet and go at shopping malls. They have money to invest in the business, buy a new car, arrange the wedding of their kids but make excuses to go on the holy privilege Hajj which is obligatory on those who can afford it.

The media has taken up the youth a lot. They waste a lot of time watching movies. In the name of modernization the young ones imitate to be the false characters they watch. Instead of learning about the Quran and Holy Prophets, they are fans of Batman and Spiderman. Even during the month of Ramadan the sounds of music float in air. Dancing and singing is not a part of our religion but people Muslims are obsessed into it. People have started avoiding fasting because of their business meetings, matches, work burden, exams and countless reasons. Those who fast does not perform prayers or do tell lies that kill the main purpose of fasting. Muslims avoid paying Zakat for the lust of money and increase their wealth to get double. They are Muslims without following Islamic values so are doomed to be ruled by the super powers.

Islam preaches to be simple but to show off people are making their own life complicated. Dowry is not a part of the Islamic values but Muslims are giving their daughters a lot of stuff to maintain their social standard. They waste money in different wedding parties whereas Islam says to have Nikah and reception. From that sum many other girls can be married simply with little stuff necessary for household. The modernization has rusted the soles of the Muslims depriving them from following the set rules of their great religion.

Islam is a simple and liberal religion. It states that the Islamic laws should be adapted by people they should not be imposed on them. It is the ease in the religion that attracts the people of different religion to adapt Islam, leaving the one of their forefathers. There is no one superior or inferior in Islam and all the Muslims are brothers among themselves. People may be rich or poor but the religion has maintained a balance by the division of wealth through Zakat.

Islam teaches Muslims discipline to follow laws. So whatever is prohibited in the religion should be avoided or else one will be punished for his wrong deeds on the Day of Judgment. But the religion have leniency in case if no other option is available. Eating the flesh of a dead animal is not allowed in Islam but if one is starving and have no resource to get food for himself or for his family he can eat the meat of a dead animal he find lying down in the garbage.

That’s not the case that the laws are not strict to follow but there are choices according to situations. Instead of stealing for food eating dead animal is a right alternative where you are not considered sinful. Likewise, lying is not allowed in the religion and is considered to be the basic cause of sins. But if a person’s life is at stake lying is not a sin. You can unite a couple or friends by a lie that will not hurt their feelings instead clarify the differences between them. Telling a lie is precious in Islam in such a situation then the truth which can make them apart.

Interest by any means is outlawed in Islam. Earning through interest or by the business or job that work on interest is also banned in the religion. So if a person is into the bank job and he is unaware of the fact then he does not need to leave the job immediately. There is a choice that one should look for another job and then leave the one. So that he or his family does not have to suffer. There are strict laws but at the same time there are alternatives available that can go with the situation. Performing Hajj is compulsory only if one has enough resources and can afford it.

Islam has never restricted Muslims. It preaches the lesson of continuous struggle in life. Man can go for any option within the Islamic values to increase his standard of living. Learn anything and can travel all over the world to earn good. As long as a person abides by all Islamic laws, performs his obligations, he is a true Muslim.

Islam is the religion of peace, which requires its followers to surrender to the word of God and abide by the rules and regulations in order to receive the best treatment in life after death. By following the religious codes, a Muslim is securing for himself the love of God, not only in the hereafter but also in his life. Even though Islam draws a clear line between the religious and the worldly affairs, it still remains a religion of moderation and asks of its followers to strike a balance between the two, to secure a place in heaven while securing a peace, success and happiness in this life.

The purpose of man’s existence, according to Islam, is to worship God, to recognize His Greatness and Oneness and to worship him in the best possible ways. However in more worldly terms, everyone has a social life and needs to work in order to make a living and keep up with the moving society. Islam as a religion of balance calls for its followers to be a part of the mainstream society, to shun evil and promote the good and institute justice in society. It calls for its followers to be involved and to struggle for a better change.

Islam expects its followers to be efficient, creative, organized but most of all, it asks for its followers to value and manage time. Success can only be found in those who do not take time for granted. It is not impossible for you to find triumph in both your worldly and religious life if you can manage your time properly. For example on your way to work you can read the Quran or seek God’s forgiveness.

It is also important to sort out your priorities and maintain the ethical code of Islam in all your actions. Islam very strictly promotes the concept of hard work and labor. So being determined and focused about work and career is not disregarded in Islam. Participation in sports, politics, science, educational conferences, learning about different cultures and religions are all allowed and promoted as long as the religious line of modesty and utterance of truth is not crossed.

While performing worship and other obligatory religious practices are important, it is also important for all Muslims to interact with each other and maintain a healthy familial and social life. Islam places great importance on being satisfied and content as a person in order to recognize and be thankful for all the goodness God has placed in the world that surrounds us. Islam, as a religion encourages its followers to leave a balanced life, to maintain a grip over the worldly and the religious affairs and to tackle life and its problems in a stable and sound manner. It is a system of balanced faith.
