In this fast-paced world when technological breakthroughs have made the lives of humans easy and convenient, there is strong sense of discomfort, uneasiness and anxiety. What is that there is not present and which of the factors is absent? What is the reason of this anxiety and restlessness? There is strong sense of not having something when you have everything your heart ached for. It feels like thirst that cannot be quenched with water. It seems like emptiness that does not go away with anything.

By filling your brain with literature and falling for heavy meaningful discussions, you get nothing out of it but the feelings aggravate. So. What is that you need to fill your empty hearts, release all your agonies, anxieties and pains? What is that can give you sensation of being complete and accomplished? That is remembrance of Allah SWT or dhikar Allah. In Holy Quran Allah Subhana wa Tallah says, “He is successful who purifies himself, and remembers the name of his Lord, and so prays.” (87:14-15)

Allah’s Apostle SAAS told his companions, “Shall I tell you about the best of deeds.” He SAAS added that “the most pure in the sight of your Lord, about the one that is of the highest order and is far better for you than spending gold and silver.” He SAAS further said that “Even better for you than meeting your enemies in the battlefield where you strike at their necks and they at yours?” The companions inquired what and said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet, sallalaho alay hi wasalam, said, “Remembrance of Allah.” (Narrated by Tirmidhi, Ahmad, and Hakim)

There are many types of dhikar Allah or ways to remember your Lord, Allah Subhana wa Tallah. You can adopt any one of the methods and remember Him SWT. It does not matter which method but what matters most is your concentration and due attention towards the One who sustains and grants you everything in life. You should not divert your attention towards the material and objects. You should always be thankful and remember the One who gave you all of this. Only then will your heart be at peace and will feel accomplished.
