Business Success for Young Muslim Mother – Inspiration in Global Entrepreneurship Week
If you’ve got what it takes to start your own business. What are you waiting for?
Afshan used to work as a sports teacher but after having young children decided on a career change.
From the age of 16 she had been doing hair cuts for friends and family so her new direction was studying hairdressing at Sheffield City College. She then noticed a gap in the market which didn’t provide haridressing needs for women who wear hijab, and decided to set up her own salon.
Now, the 27-year-old mother of three is the owner of a thriving business.
Her ladies only salon ‘Beauty Beneath’ is very popular, particularly for women who wear the hijab. Afshan views her salon as a safe environment in which women can remove their veils and scarves. She has also invested in the decor to make it look very slick and stylish.
If you want to follow in Afshan’s footsteps, attend an event during Global Entrepreneurship Week (16 – 22 November) – a worldwide movement of entrepreneurial people that will give millions the oppurtunity to unleash their ideas and turn them into reality.
