The political and government method provided in Islam is a point of question for most of the critics of Islam. They say that Islam is a religion where dictatorship is promoted rather than democracy. They fail to realize the reality, though. It is a fact that in Islam, democracy and Islam are two separate entities. Both, however, cannot be separated because they have a good place when dealing with politics.

Islam, like other religions is a system of beliefs that are a bit old but very strong, if implemented. Democracy, however, is a new system of belief. There can be conflicts and contradictions between the two systems. However, the modern system of democracy can be made according to the Islamic teachings. In other words, democracy can be adapted to Islam.

The argument that people give in proving Islam to be a religion supporting dictatorship is, the caliphs of Islam were people who did a one-man rule on the whole of the Islamic Empire. But they fail to realize that those people, who were made the caliphs one after another, were selected on the basis of people’s decision. The people who decided the ruler wee educated people from the whole empire representing different tribes and areas. Doesn’t it show that it is absolute Democratic approach?

The complexities, however, remain there in the debate of whether Islam is a religion of dictatorship or not.
